QUOTE(allycat @ Sep 19 2011, 03:04 PM) Kave is only 5.1. You can only get real 5.1 or 7.1 if the source has it. Otherwise, you get virtual or simulatedsurround. Totally agree with you. Just that comparatively, I think Kave is slightly heavier than the others.I'm using Kave now. The virtual surround is fantastic. When my PC walks around a talking NPC, you can hear the NPC's voice shifting around your head. You can tell where the sound is coming from very clearly. |

QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 19 2011, 03:08 PM) the True 5.1 is superb. I bet with a better sound card it would be even better, imho of course.Added on September 19, 2011, 3:16 pm QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 19 2011, 03:13 PM) Yea heard about the weight also...but i wanna try a real 5.1 surround....thats what im looking here..... If you have doubts, maybe you could try out a demo unit or so. But, honestly, a worthy investment. Great for FPS games + it has a good mic. This post has been edited by Alfsaw: Sep 19 2011, 03:16 PM |

QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 19 2011, 03:16 PM) Icic....soundblaster will do? lol...but the cheap one is no big diff right? i mean s cheap as RM69 in PC Depot Sure thing. Unless your a person whom is very particular about sound quality, then the audiophile cards is for you.I got my Asus DG with Rm39 (Original price Rm139) discount at Cycom, bought it especially for the Kave. QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 19 2011, 03:35 PM) Huaaa so cheap aa.....lol...is that a good sound card? few of my frens also recommend Asus brand...is there a huge different while u use it? Yea it was, was kinda desperate when i bought it. So, i bought it out of necessity.jz sharing currently im using Razer Carcharias headset.....satisfied sith it, but wan to try a 5.1 headset now... Initially, I was hunting for Asus Xonar D1 / D2X, went scouring all over LYP, most of the major shops told me "OUT OF STOCK". The Headphone AMP feature kinda caught my eye. |

QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 19 2011, 03:43 PM) hmmm..Xonar DG for RM139 i think is quite affordable.... If you were to compare the Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 VX vs Asus Xonar DG, the DG is the winner hands down.Added on September 19, 2011, 3:48 pmbut nowadays hard to find Roccat Kave laa....*OUT OF STOCK* sian d.... hmmm is there a huge different compare to SS Siberia V2????? thats my 2nd option...hehehehehehehehe Really worth the money, if your on a budget. Simple review here: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/audio/a...nar_dg_review/1 Cant really comment about the V2 though, looking at it prima facie..... No 5.1? |

QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 19 2011, 05:12 PM) Theres like quite a number of Kave in Melaka. Untouched and unspoiled, like kesian no one wants em. LOLAdded on September 19, 2011, 6:47 pm QUOTE(allycat @ Sep 19 2011, 04:55 PM) When I was looking for a headset, I did much research. Finally i setled on kave. I've never expected the Kave to do so much for my gaming experiencing. No regrets for me. Maybe at first, the transition from lighter headphones to the Kave might be a shocker, have to admit tbh. But after awhile, no problem.Added on September 19, 2011, 4:58 pm Like I said, Kave is true 5.1. But true 5.1 also depends on your source. If your source is stereo, then you'll only simulated 5.1. Been playing for 8~10 hours straight, no problem with the weight. And the ear-pads are damn comfortable! This post has been edited by Alfsaw: Sep 19 2011, 06:48 PM |

Guess so, i think Melaka doesnt have the market for gaming peripherals. You name it, Razer, Steelseries, Roccat.... All for display only, cuz no one bothers about em. Some shops that i know, even giving outrageous discounts. Eg. Roccat Kova, RRP is RM 190+, the shop was selling for only RM 150.

QUOTE(renishi @ Sep 20 2011, 01:26 AM) I bought mine, 2nd hand (1 week old ONLY) = RM220 Full warranty. In Melaka, you can either go Stygix, PcSpec (Both at Bukit Beruang) or Takana Tech (Batu Berendam) Stygix will give discount if you buy in bundle/combo. PcSpec , letting go of their Roccat stock, just talk to their boss nicely then confirm alot of discount. |

QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 21 2011, 09:54 PM) I think DG would be better because it has a built in Headphone amp.If you want more power, then get the big brother, Xonar STX ( Do note that STX doest not support 5.1, unless you get Xonar ST or HDAV1.3 with H6 Expansion to substitute) Example : http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-xonar-e...deluxe-review/4 Other options are D2X and D1. Sorry, I might sound bias. Cant comment about Creative cards. |

QUOTE(nidzam @ Sep 21 2011, 10:01 PM) LOL was about to ask "what about SoundBlaster...got cheap one RM69 only....but scared effect same like mobo.... DG v SB 5.1 VX? DG would be the obvious winner. If I were you, just save up for now, don't need to rush, because you already have a mobo which can support 5.1.Save up and get even better sound card like perhaps D2X. |

QUOTE(ask_dino @ Sep 22 2011, 11:37 AM) Yup agreed, when I play FPS definitely using my KAVE thank god that my mobo has 5.1 support and it perform flawlessly! You should.... To maximize the Kave`s potential. My Sonic Gear also has became redundant when the KAVE came hahaha Seeing you guys talk about Sound Card, I might as well save up to get a quality SC If its good now, with a new sound card, imho it would be even better afterwards. |

QUOTE(ask_dino @ Sep 22 2011, 11:59 AM) Which one is better in term of performance and value for money Creative Sound Blaster or Asus Xonar, or guys have any specific model to recommend? My personal preference would be Asus Xonar.Xonar STX is like a reference standard for headphones, just that it cant support 5.1 ( Have to get either ST or HDAV1.3 with H6 expansion for 7.1 support). http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-xonar-essence-stx-review/ DG is a budget headphone card. (supports 5.1 + built in headphone amp) D2X is an all rounder card. (support 7.1) = http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-xonar-d2x-review/1 Do note also that, some of the more higher end Xonar cards(e.g. D2X) require pci-e slots and direct power source from your PSU. Sorry, i cant comment much about Creative cards. This post has been edited by Alfsaw: Sep 22 2011, 12:27 PM |
