Even my Kave is still 1 day old but i can feel the different from my previous headset, the surround is much much much much more accurate!!!!!  thumbup.gif
Plus with the Xonar DG  drool.gif
I dont know izzit jz me or what, i hear sounds that i didnt hear b4 this, example I like Counter Strike Source most of the time. The sound of bullet register hit the wall, when all sounds are messed up like got gun fire grenade the footsteps u can still hear them....thats awesome for me...will try in other single player games later on....

BFBC2? You sure or not? Are you listening carefully?

Should be working since you already tested it out using CS.

settings are at 3 different points:

Hardware(Kave) > Software(Asus Audio Center) > Application (Games), just keep on tweaking or can try to reset to default settings. Should work.

Either you get an external sound card or you can only run it stereo on your laptop without the surround effect.

better if you get an audiophile-grade headphone instead for long term enjoyment. consider getting the beyerdynamic dt 231 pro.
*
You got that right, bro.

I believe, most more prominent audio/headphone manufacturers have better products compared to exaggerated prices or overrated features, imho.

Got my ATH-M50 recently, and never looked back, leaving my Kave for display only for the moment.

The only wireless gaming headsets i can think of, prima facie :

Razer Chimera 5.1 639
Razer Chimera 419

Turtlebeach have several more choices, but slightly more pricey.

Siberia V2, or if you`d prefer surround 5.1 can try CM Sirus or Roccat Kave.

How is the wireless razer chumarea 5.1 do? Is the
Music nice enuf?
*
RM639 in garage sale.

IMHO, if you want quality audio reproduction for music, my advice is to get a proper set of headphones.

Tested Orca, Electra and a few more "gaming" headset models, the sound produced is quite mediocre tbh.

But still its quite a subjective thing, depends on preference, usage and budget of a particular person.

You`d prefer true surround or standard stereo. Both got pros and cons.

Do you have a dedicated sound card?

I prefer true surround. Currently just using my onboard Realtek ALC898 7.1 sound driver. So i still need a dedicated sound card?
*
If so then, can go for a Roccat Kave 5.1 + Asus Xonar DG or D1 combo.

Xonar DG will have noticeable improvement from onboard sound card? Currently using CM Storm Sirus 5.1. I have dilemma whether upgrade to DG or use back onboard sound card.
*
Yes. Discrete cards will always have a significant advantage over on-board audio, Xonar DG comes with a built in headphone amp which is a plus if you`re using a headphone/headset with more than 32ohms.

I let go of my Roccat Kave not for its quality but because it was too heavy for me.
