I was planning to get a decent setup for gaming purpose. In my mind:

~ SS Siberia V2 + Asus Sonar DG ~

Any other suggestions?
*
Quality wise, I`d go for Superlux HD 668B + Xonar DG/DGX. You`ll get both for less than rm300.

correct me if im wrong, but Superlux HD 668B does not have mic right?

i need headphone with mic since im gaming.
*
Yes. But sound wise, the 668B blows away the V2. Can always opt for a desktop mic, not much difference there.

just finished reading the reviews. a lot of people said Superlux HD 668B is the best bang for buck.  thumbup.gif

btw, any good desktop mic u would recommend?
*
Yea it is. Regular mics typically fare just enough for the average user. Most have about the same quality and some are better than others. Unless you`re talking about USB Condenser mic from Audio Technica or etc, thats at a whole new level already. Best is to try em out before buying.

Razer Electra good for music?? anyone can answer me?? i wan the electra to be a on-the-go headset as i have a creative speaker set at home
*
Nope. Not worth the price at all. The sound quality it produces is not even mediocre, rubbish in fact. I think there are better options out there, depending on budget ofcourse.

*
It is. Tested both before. Compared the the 668B, the Electra is like doh.gif

want to sell my siberia v2 2.1, any good new gaming headset under 400?  drool.gif

Do you really need the mic? If no then, can opt for Superlux HD 668B or top up for an Audio Technica ATH-A500X

i just bought the asus xonar dg. the difference it made as compared to on board one is huge.  cool.gif

this is only a budget sound card. i cannot imagined what difference one would experienced if they bought the high end sound card like xonar essense.
*
Ofcourse. Had that card before I got my current one. Great choice no doubt.

Tested on any proper headphones yet?

not yet. i'm still trying to figure out which setting is the best for the card.  blush.gif
*
That solely depends on your own setup bro. TBH, the card is awesome for BF3. The virtual 7.1 with a headphone works like a charm.

budget lest say below rm500

yes i do really need mic
*
if you really need an all in one, can opt for SS V2 + Asus Xonar DG/DGX

For better sound quality, Superlux HD 668B + Asus Xonar DG/DGX + external mic

Just headphones, have to top up abit more but the sound quality is undeniable, can opt for Audio Technica ATH-A500X or ATH-AD700 + Asus Xonar DG/DGX

i would say both are equally have a better quality.

i using Siberia for my desktop and i using Kraken Pro whenever away from home / outdoor purposes. both have a great sound quality and decent microphone. good enough for what gamer like me needed  thumbup.gif

sometime i using my Kraken Pro to listening to a song from my iPod.  sweat.gif

Get an audiophile or atleast a proper headphone and your decision will likely change. tongue.gif

Superlux HD 668B + Asus Xonar DG/DGX = less than rm 300. Cheaper and way better in terms of sound quality from what you currently got.

Where can i get Superlux HD 668B?
*
Garage sale. Alot of sellers there. Trust me, Superlux is a better buy than any of those "gaming" headsets, if you want a good quality headphone but ur on a tight budget. Way better in terms of audio. Cheaper price too, RM130-140 iinm for HD 668B

well, I'm a gamer and usually play with my friends so I need the mic. Thanks for the recommendation though.
*
A desktop/clip on mic works too. Unless you need it to be mobile then thats another thing entirely.

TBH, the quality of the mics used on "gaming" headset are just average, not too bad nor good. Roughly about the same quality too.

Yup thats true. You pay for the convenience of an attached mic.

Now just waiting for Superlux gaming headsets to be actually released.
*
Hoping for it too.

Cuz the Sennheiser PC350/360 now have revised version, PC350 SE/PC 363D, are abit overpriced and out of reach for most of us.

Even the BeyerDynamic MMX-300... cry.gif

EDIT:If can get headset below RM50 would be nice too  laugh.gif

Superlux havent come up with a headset range yet, iinm.

Best combo ive tested is Superlux HD 668B + Asus Xonar DG/DGX + regular desktop mic (if needed) = should be less than rm300 or so.

Anyone here use steelseries siberia v2 frost blue edition ?

Looking for some review here cause i might be getting one soon.

Normal version should be fine imo. Unless you really want the extra features.

If you are looking for sound quality only, and without mic, I`d recommend better ones within that budget.
