Really hard to get though. But yea, it is audiophile quality. Another option would be Sennheiser PC350/360.GaMinG HeadseT Club, GameRz Lai!

QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Jan 2 2013, 10:45 AM) Is there any possibility that don't want to get a Sennheiser? Cuz the products they made is like very plasticky. For me, I think that there is no perfect headphone/headset. But for quality audio reproduction, I`d always go for those brands whom are actual manufacturers of audio equipment, like Sennheiser or Audio Technica. Yes, most will say it is expensive and what not, but it is worth the money. I`d choose that over buying those so called "gaming" headphones/headset, which will usually have that eye candy look, gimmicky set of features and the expected mediocre sound quality. Investing in a dedicated sound card is also a way to go. Will definitely improve the audio on your system. A good started card, would be Asus Xonar DG/DGX. For the "best", so far, from online reviews, its down to personal preference still, would be either the BeyerDynamic MMX-300 or Sennheiser PC350/360. But these can fetch a pretty high price in Malaysia. The Sennheisers can be found easily but not the MMX-300. |

QUOTE(theirwan @ Jan 2 2013, 06:38 PM) Max budget?Added on January 2, 2013, 10:08 pm QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Jan 2 2013, 06:44 PM) i though every time a wireless headset comes with friggin big USB plug.(was it?) nvm.. So are there any wireless or wired headset to recommend? Hopefully below rm500 up to a maximum of rm550 only. Thanks If you dont need the mic then, I`d go for a proper set of headphones if I were you. You`ll get more value for your money. Add a sound card for a better sound reproduction, virtual surround works perfectly fine too. Get a mic if you really need one. This post has been edited by Alfsaw: Jan 2 2013, 10:08 PM |

QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Jan 4 2013, 12:50 PM) Hm... will go have a look... Though is it good to get an audiophile headset then use a dolby processor to convert it to 5.1 or 7.1? Works perfectly fine for me. using the virtual 7.1 software on my STX and im playing mostly FPS games. Not to brag but these are my stats in various games. I get better positional audio than "gaming" headsets. Why? Ive even tried and used the Roccat Kave 5.1 true surround. It never came close to the quality of audiophile/monitoring headphones. QUOTE(hypermount @ Jan 14 2013, 04:49 PM) Any recommended wireless headset? Have to checked out TB`s line of wireless headset?I love the hanger, base thingy that we can rest/charge the headset on like Razer Chimaera. Can PC support 5.1 in Chimaera? Been considering G930 but there's lotsa complain about its build quality. Might go for Sennheiser RS170 |

QUOTE(- JaY - @ Jan 14 2013, 05:52 PM) hey guys, i've been scouting around for a gaming headset and torn between the g35 and roccat kave. anyone kind enough to share your experience with these? thanks.. and is it possible to convert laptop's 2 speaker+ 1mic input for 5.1 surround? Roccat Kave is okay. Build quality is not bad but the sound that it produces is just average. I`d rather get a pair of proper headphones and a decent dedicated sound card (for virtual surround). For the 2nd question, from my understanding, for actual surround setup. You would actually need the hardware, i.e 5.1/7.1 speakers (placed or arranged accordingly) to get the effect. Laptops have 2.0 speakers, I dont think its possible to get surround that way. |

QUOTE(hypermount @ Jan 14 2013, 05:38 PM) I think can safely say I strike out TB from my list. I've been considering Corsair Vengeance 2000 too. Whats wrong with TB? Its quite a reputable brand and one of the pioneers in wireless gaming audio.Kinda fall back to Chimaera 5.1 everytime. looks good. Still new to this optical audio thingy to enable surround on PC. Need to do research or anyone can enlighten me on this one? The Vengeance 2000 is a solid choice, tried it out once. Its not as bulky as the Chimaera (which is a plus), but as per your requirement, it doesn't have the "stand" though(may be a minus for you). Do you insist on wireless headset/headphones? |

QUOTE(- JaY - @ Jan 14 2013, 07:43 PM) what other headsets would you recommend then? it is for gaming purposes and not for audiophile. budget would be below 300? since both the g35 and kave are around that price.. Have you tried out the Kave? Its not for everyone though, cuz of the size and weight. The three pads on the top kinda sinks to the skull after awhile. Ive had one once, cuz i wanted to tried out true/actual surround sound from headsets. But I eventually let it go because of the weight. Comfort wise, for the first few moment it should be okay, wont give you those pesky ear cartilage cramps as the cups are really large. Gaming + audiophile? For my experience with headphones, getting audiophile or atleast proper set of headphones will always bring better quality audio reproduction than the generic brand of "gaming" headsets hands down. |

QUOTE(hypermount @ Jan 14 2013, 09:30 PM) Yea I want wireless headset. What about the Creative models? I believe you need a few adapters for it.To enable 5.1 surround in Chimaera 5.1, I think we need sound car with optical output? Do you think audiophile grade headphone like ATH-700x (which I was considering too) will be much better than all headsets? Refer to this: http://help.razersupport.com/us-en/resolut...=&rid=400003729 Audiophile headphones? Most definately, im a strong advocate in the sense trying to persuade people to actually go for proper headphones rather than the "so-called" gaming headsets which give gimmicky features and below average mediocre sound. The audio you get from a proper set is the quality you`d expect to get, but never in a "gaming" headset. For example, the ATH-700X + Asus Xonar DG/DGX (i.e with built in headphone amp) = Awesomeness! The only Audiophile "gaming" headset, which are actually proper are those of Sennheiser and BeyerDynamic. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I agree. Only go for those higher end gear if you are really into gaming or just want an overall better audio experience. But be sure to have a decent or at least proper sound output if you do. For example, I have a friend whom just bough a Corsair SP2500 (200w+) speaker set and runs in with a laptop. Whom then asks me why is the speaker not as good as per the reviews online. |

Tested a great headphone tonight. For both music and games. The Superlux HD 668B. Dont let the price tag of RM140 fool you, these cans are really something. Better than most gaming headset audio and could rival ATH-M50s after proper burn in period.
Check it out, for those price/quality concerned users: Hd 668B + Asus Xonar DG/DGX = RM140+RM135 = You`re good to go with any games out there. |

QUOTE(azrin177 @ Jan 19 2013, 08:57 AM) Ive had the Roccat Kave 5.1 and tested the Razer Tiamat 7.1 before. Both look solid and have good build quality BUT really lack in sound quality. The surround works though, thats all. I reckon Sirus would be about the same. |

QUOTE(azrin177 @ Jan 19 2013, 12:00 PM) yup,i agree, but if want compare to sq, that would be totally different because tht is not the purpose for gaming right?i owned superlux 669 and vmoda m80,tht is not very satisfy if i wanna play game like cod, battlefield and and other fps,the experience in sirus 5.1 is much much much better, but for sq nothing beat the true audiophile can. Do you have a sound card? For me virtual surround is better. I`d still choose proper headphone than "gaming" headset though. Ive tested alot of gaming headset and none, so far, can produce a better audio experience for gaming. Have yet to test out these though: Sennheiser PC350/360 or the newer version, PC350 SE/ PC 363 D BeyerDynamic MMX-300 |
