Thats why i wanna find out whether it is a worthy investment or not. Review available online are kinda vague as in lacking particular details or so.

Yeah vague reviews. Not sure if it's not spectacular or just plain too expensive for it's use. I believe it was once coupled with the Xonar STX and sold as a set. Can't remember whether it was the 360 or some other headphone from Senn.

On a different note, I almost bought the M50 today but tak jadi. Will post the story in Audiophile section of Audio Technica thread.

Xonar Xense set with the Sennheiser PC350. But Ive never seen the set sold in Malaysia though.

Saw it for sale in SG when the STX came out. Very expensive combo but cheaper to buy it in the set if already planning to get both.

Only concern is that the earpads on the PC350 are like those on the A700. Prone to tearing after sometime.

Just got my Razer Blackshark yesterday. I think this is the best overall sounding headphone Razer ever made so far. The long earpads are so thick and soft, and it does block almost half the external sound. Comparing to my previous favorite Siberia V2 USB, I think this one feels more comfortable wearing on head for hours.

In my opinion, it doesn't sound as wide as Siberia V2 because of the closed back design, but it has better bass responds and also better vocal clarity. I tried watching Avengers with it, and I don't feel uncomfortable wearing it throughout the movie at all. The positions of the speaker is better than Siberia V2 as well. It directs the sound directly into your ear canal, results in straight forward sound.

Not to mention, it's much much more good looking headphone too. Sexy Aviator style biggrin.gif

How much is the Blackshark now? Havent tested one yet. sad.gif

i've listened to m50 on my friend laptop couple of times and i had to crank up the windows volume to max just to meet my preference just so you know. if u realy like bass and on tight budget u can just try sony headphones(don't know the model maybe extra bass something)price range 100-200. i've listened to them and the bass is higher than m50 for sure, music sound nice to me(at least). as u said u never listened to audiophile headphones much, i think those sony headphones will come to your liking. different people different preference but if u want to be a d*ck about it you can go ahead and do wat they said tongue.gif

Its way different on a desktop with a dedicated soundcard + headphone amp though.

Regardless whether it is studio monitoring or audiophile headphone, it would always have way better audio quality than the so called "gaming" headset/headphone.

I'm gonna match them with Asus Xonar Essence STX. The thing is just that the mic I preferred isn't available in Malaysia, and that's why headset with mic attached comes into my consideration. If I can find the mic, my selection would be Blue Yeti + HD558. Else I'm going Tiamat 2.2 or Blackshark.

I do actually listen to FLAC music, especially anime song n kpop. And one thing, you underestimate D2 audio ald. You get more immerse with better sound quality. Go try it! =)

M50 RM699 can be found in lowyat G floor. I believe there's space for us to negotiate as I can find RM5xx at somewhere else.  biggrin.gif

I would personally go for a proper set of headphones and a mic, like the ones you`ve listed above than going for "gaming" headset. Cuz the difference in quality is huge.

I got my M50 at RM630 from a seller here in GS.

Question, any good earbuds/IEMs for fps gaming with mic? Or am i better off with a headphone? Cuzz i'mma laptop gamer and most gaming headphones are too bulky to fit in a laptop bag, and are a bit too high profile to sling around my neck.
*
IEM/earbuds with inline mic for gaming? I could only think of Roccat and Razer so far.

Headphone = just the cans, headset = cans + mic. Which one are you looking for? Budget?

Hrmm... I'll need a headset then, for fps with a budget of RM200 now, RM300 if i save more within a month.

I see, for portability you need something that is collapsible like the M50. So far the only headset small or potable enough is the SS FLUX (http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-flux), but Im not sure of the price here in Malaysia though. I`ll keep you posted if I find any other suitable ones.

yes i do utilize the mic alot. everyday skype-ing with friends just to play our Dota game. plus tourney coming nearby so i really need that mic as well.

Can consider these:
CM Storm Sonuz rm255
Creative Tactic 3D Alpha rm259
Corsair Vengeance 1300 Analog rm279

price are per lingloong`s list in GS.

for rm390 can get SS V2.

Depends on set up though, are you gaming on PC or laptop?

For a person whom plays games with a studio-monitoring headphone, I would say, gaming headset aren't that bad nor too good. Most give mediocre performance, for a hefty price.

Depends solely on personal preference. Ive tried out the CM Storm Sirus and Roccat Kave, these are surround headset though, positional audio was great but for other non-gaming functions, to me at least, the quality of the audio reproduction is just horrendous. So might agree that, "gaming" headsets are more of a sales gimmick rather than giving a person an edge or improving ones game-play. But that's up to debate as usual.

For me, its down to personal preference. Because the question you asked is quite vague, as in good in what terms? As i know that results may vary.

ok i get what you mean. anyway thanks for the advice. just few more research i might be able find a good headset.

Creative and Corsair is not bad though, for the price. But since your on the go, to tournaments or LAN parties, best to find something sturdy, as in it wont break easily or built like a tank. Some headset are lightweight but flimsy and some are well built but heavy. Cant really find a perfect one though.

FYI, the only "gaming" headsets that provides audiophile quality audio reproduction are:
Beyerdynamic MMX-300
Sennheiser PC350/360

But these sets come with a god-like price but long warranty period though. 5 years and 2 years respectively.

Was aiming for one initially but most of the audio distributors/sellers/retailers in Msia dont have this model. Damn sad. cry.gif
The MMX-300 has an aviation headset design and its construction is mostly metal. Comparable to the BeyerDynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohms iinm. The PC360 is good too but I`d prefer fully closed back ones.

just back from shopping and i brought Steelseries Siberia V2 Navi Edition today and i also lend out my friend TT eSports Shock headset.

TT eSports Shock headset doesnt have a nice bass compare to Steelseries Siberia V2 that i have. i think even Siberia V1 are way much better then TT eSports.

Want to improve it more? Get a dedicated sound card + headphone amp, like the Asus Xonar DG/DGX. brows.gif

any sound card that good for gaming headset that dint come with soundcard instead of Steelseries?
*
The ones Ive mentioned. Owned a Xonar DG before. A very decent card, has a very good price to performance ratio, the plus is that it has a headphone amp. Should be about rm 13x or so.

Or can also aim for the ST/STX or Phoebus ROG, pricy though.

Depends entirely on you. One is stereo and the other is virtual 7.1 surround.
