when taking pic, can the sound be turn off? or must it be in silent mode only then no sound when taking picture?

This I can answer. If your firmware is of a region where silent cameras are allowed, then you can silence the camera using Silent mode. most(if not all) of Asia has a law stating that silent cameras aren't allowed.

no wonder now all new phone didn't have that function anymore. my nokia 5610 still can turn off the camera sound through the setting without changing the profile to silent mode.

I can confirm that the SIM for australia and here can fit in. my dad bought a phone in Australia and brought it here, no probs.

For 3rd q, for the sake of being different, I'd pick white, although that's totally up to you.
