QUOTE(etsuko @ Sep 1 2009, 12:17 AM) Type of camera/lens/accesories : Compact Mate, if u got budget around RM1200-1500 for compact camera, that's kinda huge. IMO, there are not much difference between digi compact camera, except for the size of the LCD screen. I suggest u go for panasonic or canon.Budget: 1200 - 1500 Your Location: Petaling Jaya Preferable brand : Panasonic or Canon Type of photography u want to do : Landscapes, Family Any specific models in mind? : FX48, TZ7, Any specific features u want? : 3" LCD Me and some members of the family planning to buy my Dad a new compact camera. QUOTE(TechnoDude94 @ Sep 1 2009, 04:37 PM) Have you tried the Canon PowerShot G10? My Dad won't have the need for a Powershot coz he won't play with the Av/Tv unlike me with a DSLR. There'll be a new Canon PowerShot G11 coming out, however, that'll break the bank but the IQ (Image Quality) is superb. So yeah. I need the recommendation of either Canon or Panasonic models with a minimum 3" LCD and obviously, image quality. |

Added on September 2, 2009, 8:38 pm QUOTE(moo moo @ Sep 2 2009, 05:57 PM) Type of camera/lens/accesories : compact or semi-pro Girls normally wouldn't lug a semi-pro either coz it can be heavier than a compact. For example; a powershot offers much features but it's heavier than a compact. Not to mention, bulkier.Budget : 1000-1500 (can be slightly higher if worth it) Your Location : KL Preferable brand : flexible Type of photography u want to do : Landscape and Portrait Any specific models in mind? : nope Any specific features u want? : nope help pls.. tqvm! The best question for yourself to ask is: 1. Will you play with the manual settings? 2. Will you want to invest in lenses - less shopping monthly? Also, with that budget I'd say you're better off using a compact camera. Your portraits won't look great without a diffuser and directional flash gun - harsh flash is the biggest problem with compacts. Wide angle would mean you need a wide lense on the camera. I've known Panasonic Lumix to be one of the widest around. This post has been edited by etsuko: Sep 2 2009, 08:39 PM |

thx for the prompt reply. was actually considering lx3 as it was a recommendation from a friend of mine.
guess i wouldn't wanna step into semi pro then if i don't want the hassle of changing lenses, for some models of the semi pro. so which compact will then fit into my budget? |
