hmm... will this T-amp work with any passive speakers? i got a kenwood compact hi-fi which seems pretty small.. planning to get one of these cuz it might be an upgrade of my kenwood stock (will it be?) if its compatible biggrin.gif

wanna ask sifu2 here also about the diff between 2024 and 2020 ... and also where to find the suitable PSU in melaka

pretty interested with the complete built which bro xstorm is selling... but dont like the banana plugs :/

*edit* didnt notice that the cable can still be screwed onto as well doh.gif

All my speakers are passive and the T-Amps have more than enough 'juice' to drive them all.
What gave you the impression that you need an active speakers? The T-amp is a power amp in it's stock state.
In fact T-amps (and Class Ds) are used for active/self powered speakers.

Basically 2020 gives you more power but the sound wise they're not the same.

There are few options for PSU; SLA, linear and last but not least, SMPS. Your choice.

If you don't like banana plugs then use something else lah.. mango plugs? laugh.gif

i mentioned any passive speakers its because my speakers (30w , 6ohms) are rather small.. prolly roughly the size of the edifier R1900.. scared that the amp might burn em sad.gif

but im a little assured now that its safe after some google searches biggrin.gif

gonna hunt for the bare wire clips , jacks, pots, and a housing before COD-ing the amp and PSU from bro xstorm

Has anyone tried supplying an external 5V to the ta2020 ?

I just have and I think it sounds better. Need time to verify smile.gif

Wanna ask around if anyone here has done the same.

5V? TA-2020 datasheet specify 8.5V as minimum.
Not much power you can squeeze out of 5V input..

Sakaic, what source you got your 5v from? Like jazzy said you can't squeez much out of it. A normal 7805 5v linear supply only give max 500mA.
