Ok.. how do I start this off.. I can't seem to find any proper words to say all these out. Anyway..

For those who has visited the LBP thread, you should have known about this and for those who are clueless regarding the existence of this thread.. Well, a fellow LYN member, a gamer among us and a dear friend.. has left us because of cancer.

Who is this someone that I am talking about? To start off, most knew her as aphrael around this dark side of the forum, there were also those who knew her and called her Dani, while a lucky few known her by her real name of Rachel.

The news of her 'passing on', came as a very shocking and sad news to alot of us. Tears covered my eyes when I read the news. Someone that I laughed and had fun together with left just like that. Just like what BlueLotus said over the LBP thread, she seems so healthy and lively all this while. And to find out that she had cancer is indeed very shocking.

I don't really know what to say anymore for now.


Everyone, if it's not too much to ask, let's pay her a last respect and pray for her and her family. This is the least we could do for a fellow gamer and a dear friend....

I don't know aphrael as much as some of you guys do, but I got to know about her when both of us shared the same "Hell Girl" avatar and we both laughed about it. I am shocked to hear that her demise was so sudden and I am sadden by the fact that her life was cut short by cancer. Sometimes life is so unfair. May she rest in peace.

I think some of us knew that Danifae a.k.a Rachel had cancer.. but.. sad.gif
I'll always remember her most from GTA4 days.. her driving was quite psychotic..and she liked to giggle alot after hearing me scream in FEAR from her driving.......
My deepest condolences to Rachel's family..
Her family here in LYN will miss her too.. I know I do.

Rest in peace. I've noticed her post and avatar for quite a while - never knew it was a she though.

Always sad to see someone who seemed 'so close yet so far' pass away all of a sudden and had her prime robbed away from her.

If i'm not mistaken she was early 20's, perhaps around 22, I can't be sure sorry. But i know she was pretty young. She looked it too.

Oh my god.. I can't believe this is actually happening... I'm seriously lost for words now. I was seriously looking forward to playing resistance 2 and lbp with dani... Not only me .. All of us.. Esp those from the GTAIV days... Damn...Really had loads of happy memories with this girl in GTAIV itself. Dani , if you can read this frm heaven , U will be missed alot and will be remembered as one of the most awesome female ps3 kaki i've ever known cry.gif ..Rest in peace dani... One love... i may not know her but i understand what it means to lose a good friend.

This give us an even stronger reason to turn our ps3 on to run Life with playstation

i would like to give a suggetion to show respect to her . For today, we shall switch on life with playstaion

I looked it up in google and found out that Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system includes tissues and organs such as your spleen and tonsils. Currently there is no known cure for this disease.

Though I didn't know her but going through the old posts and looking at the youtube videos, I admire the fact that she always sounded positive - to the extend that she expected to be back mid November for gaming sessions but unfortunately, that was never to be.

Yeah...even she said that on Fallout 3 thread. I thought she's on business trip since she only said she will be away from her PS3 for awhile. It's kinda sad to think a fellow gamers that manage to get Fallout 3 CE early passed away. I know she as excited as mine when i get my Fallout 3 CE Lunchbox

and to certain extent, she was right.....Bethesda screw up Fallout 3.

It's kinda hard to find a girl who love Fallout 1 & 2





and for LBP, she's the first person i play coop during the BETA. I had a good time laughing playing the beta...and im sure she also enjoy it as much as i am. Im gonna check back whether my Beta level still in the server...because i put a sticker of her sackgirl & my sackboy in it

Yup i also think should pass to her on her funeral. Since already reserved for her.
The way she informed everyone, she is full of confident and positive but is really sad as it happen.
If not mistaken got few forumer will go to her funeral. I think can ask them for help. At least this is the only last thing can be done for her.

I am sorry to hear about a passing of your friend (whom I don't know of) and have seen The Star Oblituary (wrong spelling) on the page. It's sad to see someone we know and passes us by without a wink.

Although I don't know aphrael at all but have seen her post, reading from this thread makes me realize some of you known her have make memories with her.

We were playing around with dani back then, it would be nice to look back and remember.

Ok.. how do I start this off.. I can't seem to find any proper words to say all these out. Anyway..

For those who has visited the LBP thread, you should have known about this and for those who are clueless regarding the existence of this thread.. Well, a fellow LYN member, a gamer among us and a dear friend.. has left us because of cancer.

Who is this someone that I am talking about? To start off, most knew her as aphrael around this dark side of the forum, there were also those who knew her and called her Dani, while a lucky few known her by her real name of Rachel.

The news of her 'passing on', came as a very shocking and sad news to alot of us. Tears covered my eyes when I read the news. Someone that I laughed and had fun together with left just like that. Just like what BlueLotus said over the LBP thread, she seems so healthy and lively all this while. And to find out that she had cancer is indeed very shocking.

I don't really know what to say anymore for now.
Everyone, if it's not too much to ask, let's pay her a last respect and pray for her and her family. This is the least we could do for a fellow gamer and a dear friend....

Although i never knew her nor played with her, she was one of us, she was a LYN member and a gamer. But we look beyond that....

We over here at the Consoles Couch are a bunch of nice people, we are close to one another and whenever we can meet up we try our very best to. I love this community and whenever someone passes in my community it saddens me deeply, to think i could have played with Dani in a game but never did saddens me even further. i never got to know her but from what i can tell she must have been a brilliant and kind person to play with. We LYN members are like the best of friends and sometimes even family so from this view i am saddened but we must pay our respects and remember her as kind,fair individual who loved to interact with us gamer geeks here at LYN..

With the utmost respect and deepest condolences, may she rest in peace..

Be cheerful and positive~~

Its not her choice at all to have cancer but she acknowledged it and lived her life to the max by enjoying playing games with you guys, hang out with her friends and family and etc. She might have lost her battle against it but it doesn't mean that she has lost the war by having you guys and all of the LYN community with her smile.gif

Muchi suggestion for the salute is great. But my MGS4 is not belong to me. I not yet get it. Anywhere I would like to dedicate a song that i feel is suitable for those that had leave us indeed this song is written as her close fren had leave her. By reading the lyrics already feel it.

Not a regular here , nor even a regular gamer. I don't know about her but after reading 10 pages and reading some of her posts. I am sadden by the shocking news that she passed away at such a young age. My deepest condolences to her family. Its sadden to see that God has taken a life of young lady but at least she would be happy to know that a lot of people here in LYN and I do believe over at PSN community also look up to her as a superhero !

May her soul rest in peace !

To those who are unable to join in the MGO photo session, I think it would be okay as well to take a pic of yourself saluting, may it be alone or with other people and post it here as well. I am aphrael/Dani/Rachel's brother. My family and I really appreciate all the well wishes from the LyN community. We are missing her terribly and wish things did not have to turn out the way they did.

We take comfort that she is safe in the arms of God and is not suffering anymore. Please say a prayer for her and if you are able we will have

1. A prayer session for her at 8pm this evening, Nov 16, 2008, at the St Ignatius Church, PJ, off LDP.

The funeral was really sad especially when her brother gave an eulogy and the best friend gave her speech as well. Really glad that I went for it and skipped college. In the end , her funeral made me meet up with vash , muchii , k-end and samurai for the first time. It was worth it. had fun laughing like we owned the mamak and I guess it's priceless to hear vash and muchii calling me a school kid huh biggrin.gif . Well , thanks for everything Rachel. May you rest in peace. As her friend said , she'll be in our memories for eternity.

It's just amazing how someone can touch so many people's heart, even without meeting each other...

Frankly I am deeply touch with Muchi's effort to ensure Dani has the proper send off. No matter what happened next, tomorrow will be another day to live for those who still can. For those who had a chance to cross path with her(in real life or online) Dani has left you a "moment" to treasure. For those who has not (like me), as I've said earlier, I believe I've spoke for many that it's amazing how an online gamer can touch so many hearts.

Farewell Dani. You're still on my PSN list, and I will remember you forever. Your messages from where we corresponded are still there and I've had a good laughed with the things we've talked about.

I still remember our microphone chat in GTA IV when we were the bad guys running away from the cops and the only way out was by the boats. As we cruised away on our speedboat, I managed to give you a direct-ring and say hi. i was adding names to my psn for LBP sessions , from the LBP thread. added following the list then her name came up. i just stare at the lcd tv without moving feeling really sadden by the turn of event. this feeling came even when i dont know her personally or hv any connection with her apart from being in lowyat forum.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the well wishes for our family. We are doing well. Thanks for the guys that visited her during the wake and funeral service. I apologise but I cannot remember all your names/nicks.

I really appreciate it. Rachel, I am sure appreciates it too. Gaming was a very big part of ther life, I would even go so far to say that it revolved around it. To see this thread and those that visited us makes me very proud of Rachel.

Finally, the best way to remember Rachel is to keep her in your memories and to tell others needing strength and hope about her and the fight that she put up. All the while being a great and dignified human being.

Let the mourning stop and the celebration of her life begin.

I don't know her and i'm not in lbp thread. but for someone to have so many friends missing her, she must have been special indeed. having known the pain of cancer i'm just happy she was so alive until the end. at least she experienced joy and will no longer be suffering.

since i'm outstation right now, I just have to send my prayers via email.

Ok.. how do I start this off.. I can't seem to find any proper words to say all these out. Anyway..

For those who has visited the LBP thread, you should have known about this and for those who are clueless regarding the existence of this thread.. Well, a fellow LYN member, a gamer among us and a dear friend.. has left us because of cancer.

Who is this someone that I am talking about? To start off, most knew her as aphrael around this dark side of the forum, there were also those who knew her and called her Dani, while a lucky few known her by her real name of Rachel.

The news of her 'passing on', came as a very shocking and sad news to alot of us. Tears covered my eyes when I read the news. Someone that I laughed and had fun together with left just like that. Just like what BlueLotus said over the LBP thread, she seems so healthy and lively all this while. And to find out that she had cancer is indeed very shocking.

I don't really know what to say anymore for now.
Everyone, if it's not too much to ask, let's pay her a last respect and pray for her and her family. This is the least we could do for a fellow gamer and a dear friend....
