I don't know aphrael as much as some of you guys do, but I got to know about her when both of us shared the same "Hell Girl" avatar and we both laughed about it. I am shocked to hear that her demise was so sudden and I am sadden by the fact that her life was cut short by cancer. Sometimes life is so unfair. May she rest in peace.

That was her final message here. If we only knew, that she won't be coming back here again.....

She had Lymphoma.

And a friend of mine just passed away. For sure I am still sad.. don't you think so?
*
I looked it up in google and found out that Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system includes tissues and organs such as your spleen and tonsils. Currently there is no known cure for this disease.

I feel sad that aphrael didn't live long enough to play Final Fantasy XIII. I bet she, like the rest of us, would have look forward to playing Final Fantasy XIII.

And she still seems so positive despite all that.. sigh

I guess like Polka, she wanted to live her life to the fullest until the very end.

If i'm not mistaken she was early 20's, perhaps around 22, I can't be sure sorry. But i know she was pretty young. She looked it too.
Sigh.

I saw her orbituary in The Star today and it says she was 34, but she looked younger then 34. It's a pity a her life was cut short by an incurable disease. She was a gamer to the very end.

Rest in peace, Rachel.

I will second that! Bernard is a real nice guy. Very patient and honest. My experience at GH so far has been less than satisfactory. Maybe coz I'm a girl so they dont think I'll buy anything  So I ended up buy my games and ps3 from Bernard.

Anyhoo, I'll be getting the US version even if it's gonna be delayed. I can wait

I didn't know she bought some of her games from GH and ended up hating that place just like I did. Now that I know, I feel sad because I wish I could have known her better when she was still with us.

Because of that post above, that is how I remembered Rachel aka aphrael, even though I didn't know her as well as muchi. Both of us had a good laugh, because we used the same Hell Girl avatar at the time.

Hi all,

I am aphrael/Dani/Rachel's brother.  My family and I really appreciate all the well wishes from the LyN community.  We are missing her terribly and wish things did not have to turn out the way they did.

We take comfort that she is safe in the arms of God and is not suffering anymore.  Please say a prayer for her and if you are able we will have

1. A prayer session for her at 8pm this evening, Nov 16, 2008, at the St Ignatius Church, PJ, off LDP.
2. A funeral mass at 2:30pm, Nov 17th at the St. Francis Xavier Church, Jln Gasing.

ps- A parcel from PlayAsia arrived a week back for her.  I am guessing its FO3.  Can't get myself to open it!

My condolences to you and your family for your loss. Your sister was a true gamer to the very end. We had no idea, she was suffering all this time but we respect her privacy and her dignity. We hope you and your family will be able to get through this hard times.

we are all one big family, even if we don't know each other or have seen each other face to face. Rachel has taught us one thing and that is, life is short. so enjoy life to the fullest while you can, for tommorow may not come.

Farewell Rachel. Your candle may have blown out long before but your legend never will.
May God grant you eternal peace.
