Hi @iamsobloodysick or all sifus,
What's the difference between King Koil Maharaja, hotel 100 and 200 series? Where to get best price for the above mentioned plus Dunlopillo royal luxe? How much? |

Iamsobloodysick,
Are there any single mattresses that do not have hard edges, so I can seamlessly join 2 single mattress together without having a hard area in the middle, as and when required? |

QUOTE(lchee @ Jun 15 2014, 10:37 PM) Some mattress shopping experience to share with the members here. Well, i feel a review after using the mattress over a 1.5 year period is due. In one word, superb. I am still above 100kg, and the bed is still holding up like day 1. My best investment in 2014 no doubt. Should've bought 2 back then and have the other in my guest room which my parents occasionally drop by to use.I was out hunting for a king size mattress as my current one was saggy. At first tried out king koil brand. Was impressed with with the Residency XL series by king koil. I am more than 100kg and prefer a firm type of mattress and King Koil Residency XL to me felt good. I did try to lie on dunlopillo royal executive luxe, though it is RM1k pricier, but still King Koil Residency XL felt better. Price range was about RM2500 to 2750 thereabout inclusive of delivery. Next I tried out this indonesia brand mattress Florence, really impress with their mattress as well, as they are value and at the same time the quality is up there. Really worth considering as their mattress price range on offer could go as low at RM2k+ for king size. I'd say they are much better than King Koil maharaja range. Then I started to be gatal and began trying mattress on the higher tier which I can't really afford. Went in to Tempur in gardens, and luckily enough, it's not my thing. Didn't like tempur beds as i felt my body was floating, rather than being supported. And getting out of that bed is a tough job especially when i'm so overweight. Went and dabble with the big 3S. Simmons, Serta and Sealy. Most impressed with Sealy. Their top end mattress that are above RM20k is seriously good. I did feel a stark difference between models that are 16k vs models that are 25k or higher. Big jump in noticeable sleep comfort. Even with big discount, the mattress is still out of my range. I was offered one piece of 25k mattress on sale for 7.1k. Tempted, but i held back. Eventually I settled for a Serta mattress that was on clearance sale for 1/3 of its published price. I got myself the Serta Royal Indulgence, pocket spring mattress with a natural latex top which is a Harvey Norman exclusive 2013 model. They have since replaced it with a new model called Presidency or something that starts with P which has a softer feel but overall the same build concept. http://www.harveynorman.com.my/bedding/mat...g-mattress.html Verdict, yeah, it's nice. It's the firm type of mattress that is suitable for my over 100kg body weight. The natural latex top is just perfect for me. The mattress is really thick, spec says 15" but I measured it to be 14.5". Luckily all my bed sheet still fit it. So was it worth the money? Well, by comparison I would say it is better than King Koil residency XL or Dunlopillo Royal Executive Luxe for sure, but is it worth the price difference of 2x King Koil residency XL, that one is abit hard to justify. But since it was a noticeable difference, I decided to go with it. In fact, even the Sealy mattress that was price slashed to RM 7.1k is better than my Serta, but the price difference of couple of thousands more is something I didn't want to commit further. Am I happy with my purchase? In a way yes. But do know this, a good mattress needs a good base too. Do not use cheapo bed frame that uses fishbone plank setting style. It affects the mattress. Go for divan/box based foundation. Also, be doubtful of mattress salesman who says that no point going for pricy mattress. Example " dont buy simmons 25k range, my King Koil 4k mattress is exact same spec and same feel". Not to say these mattress sellers are ignorant, but they do know very well the range of the mattress they sell, but if they were to start comparing to mattress that they themselves never even tried before personally and makes boastful claims, that's where I start to take their comments with a pinch of salt. Imagine one salesman was pushing hard for you to go for their RM 4.5k range of mattress, and quoting that it feels as good as a 3S mattress that is worth 27k in tempur or robinsons. In the car industry, it will be like saying that the new Mazda 6 is a good car (no doubt) and is as good as a Rolls Royce Phantom. Go figure. When a mattress price difference is more than RM10k, I will generally say there is a noticeable difference. But do be warned, try not to sample these higher end mattress, cause once u tried it, it just complicates your mattress shopping. Best is stick to trying on mattress within your budget. If your budget is RM 3k and below, do not peer your eye over the mattress 2 rows back that has a big price tag of RM 25k. Do not lay down on it cause it will leave you with a feeling of lost cause you now know what it could've been. I learnt that the hard way, and overblown my budget by almost three times the original amount. Well, but at least now i dont go to bed having that 'deep lost' feeling, haha. Hope my sharing here will be of use for future mattress shopper. |

Am considering a Dunlopillo Royal Executive Luxe (RM4,100) within my budget….or a Serta, more luxury, more comfortable but double my budget (RM8,000-10,000)… After your review, I guess I would go for Serta now. Presidential/Regent/Elite @ about + - RM8k while iPrestige/Serenade/ Maine Super is +- RM10k.Anybody would like to group buy with me so that we can get better offer….? |

Just got myself a Revor Flanders mattress (Queen size) at the price of RM 3700. It's using blended latex but feels very good.
3" Imported Latex 7" Ecolatex (recycled latex from industrial scrap) Comes with 2 years guarantee and 8 years warranty. This post has been edited by westley0214: Dec 23 2015, 09:20 AM |

Presidential/Regent/Elite @ about + - RM8k while iPrestige/Serenade/ Maine Super is +- RM10k. I won't jump directly into serta is the price difference is that huge. My mattress range most likely is replaced by the presidential range. The difference i think is presidential range using pillow top, mine was using natural latex top. And if presidential range is going for 8k, vs alternative dunlopillo 4k, that is big difference. I grabbed my mattress at the sleep shop at Jln. Maarof at bangsar for only RM5k after massive discount. My only other reference for price was an earlier link from harvey norman store which happen to has the same range at that time for RM15k. So yeah, grab Serta especially when you spot super massive sale, else at 8k, which is only 50% off listed price to me is still too pricy.Anybody would like to group buy with me so that we can get better offer….? |
