If I get the HD4850GS which needs 8 pin PCI-E power connector when my PSU only has 6 pin ones, will the card run? Need some clarifications... smile.gif

Anyone using E2140 with HD4870? Hehe want to know how's the perfomance so far. If no BIG troubles / bottleneck, might leave my E2140 stay in the case pair with this beast and hold the upgrade. Just put my E2140 like normal to 3.4GHz blush.gif

Hunting this gainward GS too..hope good offer will knock my inbox door soon biggrin.gif

Hi there,

Yours card looks like one of those defective first batch. Please send it back to us for RMA. Courier it back to us. Click the company link below for our address and contact details. Just send the card back, wrap properly with anti-static bubble plastic in a tight box. Write down Gainward first batch RMA, and put ATTN: Mr. Steven Cheah.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused  notworthy.gif, but please be assured that once you see the low temp of the latest batch (with nickel plated heatpipes and better chips), it will put a smile back to your face again. If you search the Net, you'll see that our card not only has low temp & super cooler, it's also highly overclockable.  icon_idea.gif

Thank you for choosing Gainward.

Hi,

I would like to know, is there any other option to RMA? say,
I notice there is a ScanArt branch in Johor (Batu Pahat), which is just opposite of my house.
It would be nice if I can just exchange in the Johor (Batu Pahat) branch.

BTW, what is RMA?
For this case, I could get 1 to 1 exchange right?

Thanks

I wonder if my AMD 5200 will bottleneck or not. Can feel a mild lag in game.

Hi again people!
I just built the computer in my new antec 300 case cause of height of s1283 heatpipe cooler that was too much for my previous tower case.
But I am having some serious problems, I install every version of ati drivers for 4800 series and the screen becomes completely green  sad.gif  those drivers from the CD included in the package don't work too...
I'm now without drivers (display controlers of windows) and the colours are correct but cannot play anything and everything is kind of slow.
Any ideas what could be my problem?? is this a defective one?
I have the 2nd batch of the card.
Help!! cry.gif
1st make sure you card is plug in properly and tightly. Do you hear any beeping sound when from switch till you boot into windows? If yes, how many beep?

2nd, make sure you have COMPLETELY UNINSTALL the previous drivers. ATI drivers are hard to remove completely from the folders and registry. Try using http://www.ccleaner.com/ and Drive Sweeper to clean your PC. Once that is done, reinstall the driver again, perhaps CCC 8.10

3rd, as a control test, bring your card over to another friend's PC with similar specs (and enough power), plug it in and see if it works.

If all 3 failed, then bring it back to us for RMA (click on the Scanart link below).

I'm not sure whether cooper heatpipes exist for 4870GS. Better ask Scanart to confirm.
I'd say 4870GS is among the best factory-OCed 4870 around, with its low temps of 47/60C
And of course 775/1000 is the fastest clock atm.
No cooper heatpipes for Gainward 4870 GS, all nickel plated heatpipes. See these links for more info: thumbup.gif

Our BP branch can take in your card but we do NOT process RMA in our branches. All must be send back to our HQ. So you can send to our branch but you need to wait. Best is to courier direct to our HQ in PJ (click link below). Call our Gainward Product Manager Carlson 012-3118567 to put your case on priority. Please be patience. Of course there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th so on and on for ALL products mah. If no batches, that means no sales lar, goods stuck.

Anyway, don't worry so much. There are plenty of 4870 GS users here, read the whole thread yourself. We do not have any batch issue with Gainward 4870.

Furthermore, it's Gainward practice to continously improve all their products if possible. That's why you see such an awesome batch of Gainward 4850 GS recently, supercool and superfast.
