ok dudes and dudettes. after much drama with my gainward 4850 sent back for warranty purposes, the dealer asked me if i would accept a gainward, but this time nvidia 9800gt golden sample 1024 mb. so... the question is... is it worth it? am i losing or gaining anything from this swap?

guys, am considering the 4850 GS 512MB, does it still have problem like black outs?
how to determine if its 1st batch or not?
look @ the heatpipe? if its silver means? gold means?

i think u either mistaken 9800GTX/+ as the 9800GT , or HD4850 as HD4830 sweat.gif

take a look here : http://techreport.com/articles.x/14967

and here : http://techreport.com/articles.x/15752/4

aaah... so, the plot thickens, my friend. smile.gif

ok, i think we can go back and forth on this thing till the end of time, but try to be objective about this (not that i`m implying you`re a fanboy or anything), and tell me if i should bust a cap in my dealer`s knee for screwing me over with this nvidia/ati gainward thingie. smile.gif

if you take a look around anandtech, guru3d, techpowerup, techreport and others review website, 4850 competitor is 9800GTX+, and 9800GT competitor is 4830

im not sure thou, Gainward 4850 priced around RM550~565, while Gainward 9800GT priced below RM499, so it is up to you the swap worth it or not
