Still a long way to go.
Now is only in discussion stage.
http://www.starproperty.my/PropertyScene/T...ghtBox/1328/0/0SEREMBAN: Two new toll-free highways will be built to reduce traffic congestion along existing expressways and bring more progress to the south-western part of Negri Sembilan.
One of the stretches will be between the KL International Airport and Seremban while the other will connect Port Klang with Port Dickson.
The
Port Dickson-Port Klang stretch via KLIA was supposed to have been built under the Ninth Malaysia Plan but was
deferred due to the regional economic slowdown.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the proposals have been submitted to the federal authorities, adding that, once completed, traffic would be reduced along the North-South Expressway and Federal Highway in Kuala Lumpur.
“Apart from helping to open up new areas along the stretch such as Sepang, Lukut and Salak Tinggi, it will also spur economic growth in this part of the state,” he said.
Both links would be dual carriageways.
The current distance between Seremban and KLIA via the North-South Expressway is about 65km while the distance from Port Klang to Port Dickson via the Federal Highway is about 150km.
Mohamad said the new stretches were also important as the state was now considered a “suburb” of the Klang Valley.
“The land cost for example is only a third compared to that in the Klang Valley. Opening up more areas will also take the burden off Klang Valley where land has become scarce,” he said.
He added the Seremban-KLIA stretch would not cost much as it would be built parallel to the existing trunk road. The cost is estimated at RM200mil.
He said the only missing link between the two points now were Gadong Jaya-Felda LBJ-Kualiti Alam-KLIA.
Mohamad said it would make good economic sense to have the direct links as it would cut travel time from Port Dickson and Seremban to KLIA.
