Hey I'm another Thistle convert too, after years of going to Avillion only. The only complaint I had was the reception ie. if there were a lot of people then it gets confusing because some people would be sitting and others are standing and nobody knows who's next.

Otherwise it's great, was there over the weekend as well and enjoyed it!

Depend on their occupancy rate (Direct Booking). I got mine at Rm220 for garden and RM260 for Seaview.

Sure lah. Avilion cost double. Thistle are quite affordable.

Edit : Mine was corporate rate but I think normal internet rates also around that.

Normal internet rates is ~RM310 for seaview deluxe room. Even with breakfast etc. it's still cheaper than Avillion.

Avillion feels nicer as a resort, walking past the trees, along the path etc. However the rooms are old and the restaurants are just bleh after awhile. I converted to Thistle last year and have never looked back.

Hi fellas,

Thinking of possibly going to PD end of next week(weekday), 4 adults + 2 kids. Tiara Beach looks interesting, any feedback on the Family Junior room?

Or any other places to stay I can consider with the 4 adults + 2 kids configuration?

just came back from a one day trip to Thistle... stayed at their standard room and i'm very impressed.

The bed is very comfy and humongous. It's like 2 queen beds joined together. To give you an idea how huge it is... i'm 188cm and normally when i sleep on any hotel beds, my legs will be sticking out like a sore thumb... This bed however, i still have like maybe 10 cm more space lengthwise... width.. dun need to talk di... two of us sleep... and still got like tons more space left....

Food is quite good and not that expensive. had dinner at Glass (italian restaurant) and the service is impeccable. The food is good too.. ordered pepperoni pizza and lagsana (which was recommended by the waiter). 2 person meal came down to RM 70.. which is about KL price anyway.. Breakfast was good too at their restaurant.. Took the RM 20 per person add on and didn't regret it. They make fresh pastries and bread there and then. smile.gif

Would love to go back there and stay for abit longer... But it was a good relaxing trip... just to clear the mind.

Hi,

Am looking to book a room at Thistle after reading recomendation here. Can 4 adults squeeze into a standard room since it is 2 queens put side by side, as posted here by forumer? However, when I try to book thru internet, they say the standard room is only 1 king size bed. So, is it 2 queens or 1 king?

Also, which website should I go to book? There are like many "site" selling the room?

TQ a lot

i went to Thistle JB recently and it was very nicely refurbished hotel (formally Hyatt Regency).

so with that, I'm pretty confident you'll have a good time at Thistle PD. biggrin.gif
