A little more info on your lifestyle would also help a lot more in one giving a more accurate advice.
There's actually a lotta ways to deal with binges - and a lotta ways to indulge into binging, many of which you yourself wouldn't be aware of and would relate to something common, ie stress.
To start with, prevention is usually the best way to go. Like many has mentioned, sort out the stress and lead a healthy lifestyle(dieting healthily and exercising regularly) . Light exercises, yoga, calisthenics, etc, all help and are one in many to relieving stress. Since you mentioned about exams and uni work, smarter study procedures can help - don't cram to the last minute, even out your workloads, etc.
Mentally, you could also curb down on your binges. Its a bit difficult to explain and prolly also a harder way if you aren't prepared or inexperienced to mentally challenge yourself. Will-power and self confidence are some of the key things people would suggest to another (I'm just generalizing since there isn't much info from you to go from). Since binges is all in the head and rather indulges you to stuff yourself, willing yourself to resist stuffing yourself can ultimately rid you of your binges and also a plus to other characteristics about yourself. If you lead a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle then your self-confidence would also be on a high. Most people who binge usually fall to it due a failure of sorts. So forgiving yourself and moving on while building confidence can be another way you could look into.
However, if you really did have to stuff yourself somehow. Then maybe limit yourself to just healthIER food. Stuff your fridge with just fruits and or bran.. cereals etc. So if you just had to eat something, then at least you would be eating on something you wouldn't gain much weight from. If they seem unsatisfactory you can could always try to think really hard that you are eating whatever you enjoy
Dieting well could also help. Since you said you are gaining weight and feel you are losing attractiveness, which is in turn making you less confidence. However, don't diet the wrong way that most people do - eat nothing, which is just about the fast way to be hurting yourself. Sure you lose weight, but it effects your body in many ways you couldn't imagine. Just eat things with carbs, like pasta and bread. Both of which can taste good but low in fat.
Anyway, hope this helps and all the best!
edit: Ah my bad - thought this was on the health section of the forum. Sorry ladies!
