Dev desktop: Slackware 10.1 with custom-built 2.6.15 kernel and test 2.6 kernel support packages (too lazy to build and system test latest kernel), waiting for Slackware 11

Proxy server/firewall: RedHat 6.1 (cartman) with custom-built 2.2.22 kernel and a lot of custom packages

EasyUbuntu is an easy to use (duh!) script that gives the Ubuntu user the most commonly requested apps, codecs, and tweaks that are not found in the base distribution - all with a few clicks of your mouse.

EasyUbuntu is so easy to use in fact, that even your grandma could be playing encrypted dvds, streaming Windows Media, and sporting the latest Nvidia or Ati drivers in minutes! And yes, EasyUbuntu is GPL.

EasyUbuntu works on (X/K)ubuntu and on all the three architectures (x86, AMD64 and PPC).

Darth_ash, Why are you looking at Fedora Core 2?

They stopped working on that already, go work with Fedora Core 5 or 6. Also dont forget to read their website news before going further.

Then again, if you will offer me a working 256MB SDRAM (PC-133) I could tell you how its done and also maybe show it to you. icon_idea.gif

Dude, I don't think Linux is for you if you have to ask this question.

Perhaps you would want to try Ubuntu, a lot of people say its the easiest distro. I've tried Fedora and Opensuse, and I have to agree that Ubuntu is very easy to use.

Perhaps another option is Knoppix. This one runs off the cd, so you don't have to install anything on your hard disk. Very good for people who never used Linux but want to try it.

Like anetwork said, just Google for the names of the distro to get to the web page.

if u want the slimmest distro use "DSL Linux" no high spec require, can run on Pentium I wiv 32MB ram, tested wiv streamyx & work great! Can run on "Live cd" or install into hdisk drive. The best of this distro, it's cover most of old driver u need for yor old system & can run on WinXP or dual boot .

or maybe u can try "SLAX"(Gnome & KDE which is quite confusing) & "Puppy"(slight bigger than "DSL") too..
