Maybe u want to try their suggestions; I haven't try these though QUOTE Dell Sales agent can be pretty honest if you know how to ask. Keyword: Ask open questions, not closed. QUOTE May be can call direct to their pricing team and enquire? Can be due to many reasons, could be cost drop, strategy change, diff spec, competition and etc. This post has been edited by axbx: Feb 23 2009, 12:23 AM |

QUOTE(JakzT @ Feb 23 2009, 12:36 AM) I don't find any problem so far... No dead pixel, bright and just nice... I don't think it's about better, both monitor has (+) and (-) 2333sw = 23" and IMHO, Colors should brighter and sharper than Dell a bit... S2409W = 24" and HDMI It's matter of your own choice, for me, I go for price and my guts This post has been edited by axbx: Feb 23 2009, 12:49 AM |

Another beauty after TOC series?? Introducing Samsung P2370 23'' HD 1920 x 1080 lcd monitor
![]() As usual, the beginning of the year most of the major manufacturer tends to release their new product, Samsung as the leading manufacturers in display at the beginning of 2009 brought us more surprise, after the introduce of their notebook with dedicated display screen, which provided us with a lot of convenience in this ''dual screen'' era, this time Samsung send us one of their new product---The ultra slim and stylish P2370 lcd monitor. Few weeks ago we know that Samsung have a new model lcd named P2370L , shown during CES 2009, and what is the different between the P2370L and the P2370 ? You may guess right, the ''L'' stand for LED. The P2370L is powered by LED backlit and with a impressive 2000000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio. The P2370 in this review is the same lcd but with CCFL as the light source, and ''just'' 50000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio. The price of this lcd will be lower than P2370L and there is a posibility it will replace the current 2333SW at the launch time. (just my 2cent As we know , lcd monitor with LED backlit is starting to make a trends and may replace CCFL in year 2009. Compared to the traditional CCFL, LED got a lot of advantages, such as longer lifespan, easily archieve 100% or even higher NTSC colour production. The reason why the current lcd use CCFL backlight as their source, is mainly because of the monopoly pattern of LED industry is very obvious, LED cost is much higher than the CCFL, inorder to save cost , manufacture are not widely using the technology. Beside technology , design also play an important roles in the fight between manufacturers. We can see there are plenty of lcd with glossy piano paint in the market, the launch of Samsung's Touch of Colour series has caused a trend in industry and become an iconic lcd monitor in 2008 .LCD with slim body also been widely seen in the market, there are already many LCD product started with a body that <30mm, these will become mainstream in 2009. This Samsung P2370 is a combination of many advantage on above, ultra slim body ,better appearance than TOC series , 50000:1 contrast , ....... etc. Lets have a deep look on it . Following the shock of the beautiful TOC series after a year, Samsung released P2370 with not only have the beauty of TOC series, but also adopted the 16:9 cutting, rising the Dynamic contrast ratio to 50000:1 , and the monitor itself get a big ''diet'' on its size, the thinnest part of this monitor only 20mm! ![]() ******************************************************************************************************* Viewable size : 23 inch Native resolution : 1920 x 1080 Pixel pitch : 0.266mm Aspect ratio : 16 : 9 Viewing angle (H/W): 170 / 170 Panel type : TN Brightness (typical) : 300cm / ㎡ Contrast ratio (Dynamic) : 50000 : 1 Respond time (GTG) : 2ms Input : DVI only Estimated price : ??? ************************************************************************************************************** ![]() The back. As u can see ,the panel surrounded by acrylic. ![]() a straight line under the frame-type design, with the eye catching Samsung logo. ![]() Model number on the top left corner. ![]() 50000 : 1 dynamic contrast ratio. 2ms respond time. ![]() Touch sensitive OSD button at the bottom right corner. ![]() The OSD menu can be seen clearly even in dark environment. Once u put ur hand across them, it will light up. The brightness of menu light can be adjust too. ![]() Very nice looking transparent stand . ![]() The only input on this monitor ---DVI , no HDMI Although only DVI port provided, but Samsung bundle together the DVI to D-sub cable, so those who dun have DVI port on their graphic card still can use this monitor We use some HD wallaper with the lcd and capture it with DSLR camera in a completely dark room, the photo captured are not gurantee 100% similar to the exact result come out from the monitor , but u guys can take a reference. The camera distance form the monitor is around 1.5meter, camera setting is : F5.6 lens , shutter speed : 1 / 160s , ISO 100 and auto for white balance. ![]() The original wallpaper #1. ![]() The output from monitor , capture by camera. ![]() The original wallpaper #2. ![]() The output from monitor , capture by camera. ![]() The original wallpaper #3. ![]() The output from monitor , capture by camera. ![]() The original wallpaper #4. ![]() The output from monitor , capture by camera. ![]() The original wallpaper #5. ![]() The output from monitor , capture by camera. From the photo captured, we can se that the P2370 shine with its 50000:1 contrast, the overall colour was very good, images very sharp and the layer between colour is very good, even some darker place can be seen clearly. The result was very obvious with the first picture, the shadow on the water and the sunshine is excellent. This post has been edited by xk2: Feb 24 2009, 12:41 AM |
