Hi guys,

Planning to install a sound system, went to Sam Audio @ Ipoh. Currently have a budget of 2.5k so he recommended swapping out the player to a Pioneer AVH-X5850 and to use an MbQ woofer for the moment. What do you guys think?

Guys..

2 channels of my clarion amp XR2420 is gone already, no sound coming from it, if directly connect to HU, then my sound from rear speaker will come out.

so i'm planning to replace with Pioneer GM-A6604.

is it the same performance or better? or should i go with Focal Auditor R-4280 ?

need your opinion guys

Hi All,

New to this so hopefully can get some good advise

Currently have a Fortuner 2005 model. Still has its factory installed sound system. Wanting to upgrade it so need some recommendation.

Some key requirements would be
- USB port
- to support rear & front camera (this is being planned at a later stage installation unless can get it all together at a good price)
- Needs to integrate with Steering wheel controls
- CD player - multiple slots would be better
- if possible non touch screen
- built in navigation (hopefully its not to difficult to keep it up to date)

I like to put my music out loud at times especially when i am driving long distance so would like to sound not to crack. Sound quality is important to me smile.gif

Would adding a rear tweeter be good? The current front ones are also factory standard.

Hope to get some good advise on options and pricing available so then i can decide how much to save up for it smile.gif i rather install a good piece once then keep replacing it because of poor quality

Some key requirements would be
- USB port - Most headunits nowadays supports USB
- to support rear & front camera (this is being planned at a later stage installation unless can get it all together at a good price) - Getting any latest Double Din DVD headunits will include this option
- Needs to integrate with Steering wheel controls - Pretty common function/add-on nowadays
- CD player - multiple slots would be better - You mean CD Changer?
- if possible non touch screen - You want Navigation but don't want a Touch Screen?
- built in navigation (hopefully its not to difficult to keep it up to date) - the mid to higher end models mostly support Navi

I like to put my music out loud at times especially when i am driving long distance so would like to sound not to crack. Sound quality is important to me smile.gif

Yes if possible to have a built in changer. The factory model has a built in changer unlike the off market type where the changer is separate from the main unit.

The reason if possible to avoid touch screen is while driving it's easier to feel the buttons plus my father also drivers this car and has big fingers so need to make it easier

What's types of units are recommended n what are the price ranges?

Honestly I personally can't think of any that fits your requirements.

Maybe others might be able to throw in their suggestions....

I rather go with W750BT big screem around RM 838 ~ RM 899 and buy a universal WiFi Mirrorlink Wireless device that goes around RM 210 ~ RM 250. Because I did research that XAV-712BT mirrorlink system mostly works on android phones and requires USB cable connection in which is frustrating for some. So why not do it wireless? Since 2015 phones on wards have the wireless display capability so as iphones have AirPlay.
