Lol...before you blame RS, you should blame urself for not reading their official FAQ before buying a premium account  doh.gif

http://rapidshare.com/faq10.html
The display of the used traffic is incorrect.
Download Managers cause additional data traffic, e.g. if you download a large file in parallel parts, as opposed to downloading the whole file at once. This results in more data traffic than corresponds to the size of the file. The more such parallel streams are initiated, the more additional traffic is generated. RapidShare accurately logs the data traffic that leaves our own network.

Use RapidShare Manager if u don't want to waste bandwidth  thumbup.gif

Can you give me the link?

then you at least should've activate the Security Lock, so them hackers can't change your email, unless they've managed to get your email address too hmm.gif
*
i did activate my security lock, of course.. somehow they still managed to change. Could it have been that Rapidshare retracted my acc? cause i didn't buy mine from an official reseller... did u?

really? i emailed them, got a standard reply that it will wait.. i think that is if u guys email have not changed, mine was.. my dad also had this problem, and he emailed RS. They said, only if u can provide the paypal receipt if u bought from an authorised reseller. i know most ppl buy from non=official resellers, so it cud have been that the acc was phished??

I have account bought from non-authorized reseller but it's fine, no problem such as yours.

No its not. TMnut maybe one of the culprit but when I can download Linux iso and others at a very fast rate then I know its RapidShare is the one to blame.

Download 10 files simultaneously. Just make sure there are no parallel connection for each file. <-- Can get good speed but you'll have no idea which file will finish first, but at least this way you can save bandwidth

Use download manager and download 1 file at a time. Make sure there are at least 5 parallel connections. <-- This is if you want speed, but it will take an extra 10-20% of bandwidth

Every service has it's pros and cons smile.gif

If Rapidshare is at fault, can you explain why I'm always getting fullspeed? Almost all the time? doh.gif It's TMNut problem. Didn't I said earlier, TMNut didn't guarantee speed to oversea website, so the experiences may vary from one host to another.

Thanks bro. I'm trying you 1st advice as we speak.

As for 2nd one, its not just 10-20% penalty, its even more than 250%, yes more than two hundred and fifty percent (no typo). Believe me I have found out the hard way yesterday. Download a little less then 1.1GB worth of files but used up all of my bandwidth for the day and still haven't finished that download.

If its not because of RapidShare, can you please explain me why I get full speed for all downloads (except for areas effected by fibre cable broke down). Can't explain that can you? Me too. I guess we can blame them both. What do you think? biggrin.gif

It works bro!!!

Instead of downloading 1 file at around 6KB/sec now I get 10 files at around 6KB/sec each. Thanks bro.

In that case, contact RapidShare Support. Maybe there's a bug with their system or servers.

Btw, the 10-20% extra bandwidth is from my personal experience with HiDownload (Maximum simultaneous tasks = 1 | Threads = 8)

Added on January 7, 2009, 11:31 amI forgot to give you the link to RSM = http://rapidshare.com/rsm.html. RSM actually works with XP too but the installer file provided at the page is for Vista Only. To get the XP version, contact RapidShare Support and they'll give you another download link. With a lot of RS accounts being phished / hacked for the past few months, its safer to get the official download link from RS themselves icon_rolleyes.gif

Honestly, I never have extra bandwidth used when downloading using Flashget Classic v1.7x, it just downloads normally.

I'm downloading 350MB with all single thread (no download manager speed trick) and still they deduct 600MB. After my account expired I will move away from FS for good. F**C RapidShare.

As for contacting RapidShare support. Is it worth it? Are they responsive?
