Yesterday my home Streamyx was down (and still down now doh.gif mad.gif vmad.gif rclxub.gif ). Already lodge complain to TM, but no response so far. So, I hook up N82 with USB cable and PC Suite 7. Set to UMTS only.

Seems like Maxis improve the coverage at my home area. Got 3.5G (HSDPA). Work for 1+ hour. Tuesday afternoon fully charge. This morning (Wed) low battery already doh.gif Surf on 3.5G for <2 hours. Now charging again. 1 day usage only, although my best record to finish a full charged N82 was <2 hours tongue.gif

While on 3.5G, N82 was very warm. Warmer than my previous 6230 on DiGi EDGE, and also N80 on Maxis 3G.

Current 3.5G was quite fast, not much lag time after click on link, compared to 3G (with 0.5-2 seconds lag). Speed/refresh was quite good, almost similiar to 1MB streamyx, but still a bit slower.

Download speed was alright, total 55MB download on unlimited data plan. Perhaps it was the time 12am-1am and 7am-8am with less user/traffic fighting for bandwidth.

It is way more warm than that.

WiFi 10 min is a bit warm.
Video 10 min is more warm than WiFi.
3.5G (HSDPA) 10 min is more warm than video.

Why does everyone relate notfree to time?

notfree can refer to money or just general freedom/liberty

like no freedom to watch football coz girlfriend says football sux and should sleep early
-> This is not "not free", but option for your to watch football or play football  wink.gif

or not being able to register for symbian signed coz need private domain email which is oso not free...
-> This is "not able". Not "not free"

Even my university email cannot
-> As you say, it is "can not". Not "not free" also  tongue.gif

lucklyghost,

Please read LYN rules and policies. No talking about hack, crack, pirated, etc. Otherwise, the N82 thread will be deleted by mods when someone makes a report doh.gif

But you can talk about eating hacks sweet and while unwrapping it, you drop your N82 and crack the LCD display, which you found out is quite flimsy for an original unit, and not from those pirated-china N82i. tongue.gif

my opinion:
8gb go for sandisk @rm70. I feel more reliable, tested by many and stable.

Rm250 16gb i did not buy. Above my estimate of rm180 max. I think not worth to buy now. Come back empty handed :-(

Will wait 2009 pc fair in march/april.

*posted from my n82 :-)

Added on December 12, 2008, 2:06 pmbtw 16gb is class 2. 8gb is class 4.

For n82, class 2 transfer is more than enough, even if use as usb transfer as there is a weblink somewhere about n-series data transfer limitation. Unless you take out and use with card reader.

to lock satellites, must go outdoor. Not inside house, under car porch, tree, etc. You must have clear sight of sky. N82 built in is not as powerful as dedicated gps.

BT is the most energy saving for comm/link. If purely to pair with headset and standby, it won't drain out much. It's not that noticable. Even to talk via BT headset, the battery usage is similiar with direct headset.

If I set the files to hidden, will I still be able to access it by using file mgr.? And also, will it appear again if I open the video under file mgr?

Lastly, where are the Garmin Mobile XT images located?

Thanks for the advice bro cute_boboi  notworthy.gif
*
Yes, but remember to set the file manager settings (FExplorer, X-plore, etc.) to enable view hidden files. Yes, you can load/play the images.

GMXT files are located... forgot where sweat.gif take out the micro-SD and plug into USB memory card reader into PC. Goto \Garmin and scroll all folders. If there is a subfolder _pAlbtn, go inside you you will know which files are affected. Then go back and set those files to hidden, and delete _pAlbtn folder. I remember the Help\Eng has some image files, and there are a few more folders.

The magnet is generally not strong enough to spoil the LCD at that distance. However, the magnet may trigger the camera to switch on and drain out the battery very fast, depending on the magnet location.

Then you will start to wonder why full charge can last 12-24 hours only without usage. rclxub.gif

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Dec 16 2008, 09:47 PM)
from 2 hours to 3 days (MAX)
depend what u use...
Game 2 - 5 hours
GPS 4.5 - 5hours
Phone/sms conversation 1-3days
Music - 9 - 11hours
Movie = not tested
Wifi = not tested
GPRS/3G/3.5G = not tested

Note: If u know please fill in the blank by qoute this msg. 10q
*
From full charge, then non-stop to browse internet using USB data cable + PC
1) GPRS/EDGE (GSM) = 1.5-2.5 hours
2) 3G/3.5G(HSDPA) (UMTS) = 1.0-1.75 hours

meaning 3G/HSDPA eat more juice.

Also, if you not browsing your phone through USB cable, unplug it from PC. If you leave it connected as PC Suite through USB, the battery will drain from full to zero in 6-10 hours, even without any usage, calls, sms, etc.

Games = depends what game. Some games can last 2-3 hours. Some can last ~5 hours.
GPS = 3-4 hours max. LCD always on

WiFi will last longer than GPRS/3G.
