Not fully upgraded yet. You need to manually run E:\GMXT*.sis file in N82.

lucaswjk,
Both GPS and Movie requires LCD to switch on all the time. LCD drains the most battery.

Movie reads from Memory card and requires a bit power.

GPS requires power to process GPS signal, process co-ordinates, calculate routes, refresh often, voice navigation. Hence theoretically will take up more power than movie.

Both movie and GPS are still not comparable to making calls (or GPRS/3G) which takes up even more power, hence 1-3 hours talk time only.

New M'sia govt round up policy to 2 cent tongue.gif

A new battery will perform quite similiar. However, you may notice the difference after a few months or 1-2 years. e.g. After 12 months, the original battery may be able to charge up to 70-80% (1-2 days usage), but non-original maybe 40-50% (<1 day usage).

The material used for non-ori are normally lower quality, or rejected stock from OEM. e.g. how pure is the lithium used in Li-on batteries?

32GB micro-SDHC, or until the global SD standardization organisation revise the SDHC spec. SD limit is 2-4TB (yes, terabyte)

Current available micro-SDHC is 16GB and it works.

SD (no matter standard SD, mini, micro, nano tongue.gif ) is up to 2GB only
SDHC is from 4GB until 32GB (e.g. 4GB, 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, 32GB)
Future SD from 32GB onwards are unknown yet, may a few more months/years for them to finalise the global standards.

Similiar comparison is like FAT16 and FAT32.

Biggest compatible is 32GB micro-SDHC. But currently, the biggest available is 16GB micro-SDHC.

All wrong. tongue.gif With N82, if update firmware using Nokia Software Updater (NSU), all the apps, data, etc. are intact in both phone memory and memory card.

That's the special things about N82 (and N95?) series. thumbup.gif

However, it is still recommended to do a Phone Backup before updating firmware.

I tried from N82 v10 -> v20 and v20 -> v30. Everything are intact. rclxms.gif But I still make a backup of everything.

Memory Buying Guide: Speed Class - From The Nokia Guide

QUOTE
SDHC cards have SD Speed Class Ratings defined by the SD Association. “These new speeds are available in a new specification defining the minimum data transfer speeds for both SD/SDHC memory cards and SD/SDHC host products. This enhancement is easily recognized by three levels of Speed Class, class 2, 4 and 6.  Speed Class 2 guarantees a MINIMUM transfer speed of 2 mega bytes per second (MB/s), Speed Class 4 guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 4 MB/s and Speed Class 6 guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 6 MB/s.”

It’s very important to notice that the speed class rating specifies a minimum transfer speed. So instead of showing the typical maximum, which in many cases is never reached, this system shows a guaranteed minimum. In many cases the system will easily surpass this minimum, with a transfer speed that’s much higher. A good example of this is this benchmark test done here with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I used a class 2 16GB microSDHC card, which guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 4 MB/s, but in reality what we got was actually almost twice that at 7.4 Mb/s. Using a card reader we could even see a dramatically higher transfer speed of 19.7 MB/s!

I’ve also been seeing some people who got a “class 2” 16 GB card and wanted to exchange it for the class 4 model, claiming that the class 2 card was “slower and that it would “slow things down.” This is definitely not true. Checking with the same test here, even a class 2 card is enough for even the fastest of Nseries devices; the N96 and 5800 XpressMusic. A card reader is our was able to squeeze 19.7 MB/s out of a class, which certainly more than any Nseries currently on the market, including the N96 and 5800 XpressMusic. Below you can see how much juice we were able to squeeze out of “mere” class 2 card:

A golden rule applies when buying memory cards for your Nseries device: cheaper class 2 memory cards are more than enough for current Nseries device, even the newer devices with enhanced transfer speeds. Things might change quickly though with future devices…

Want to ask the Video connectivity cable. After plug TV, can play video on TV?
*
Yes, can view video and pictures from gallery.

However, if the video in h/p resolution is low, you will see jagged images/videos on large screen TV.

Never tried before. Standard h/p (N82) is 320x240

Standard NTSC/PAL TV is 640x480

Higher res/HDTV are
720 = 1280x720
1080 = 1920×1080

3) Select TV/AV cable??? from N82
4) Switch TV to proper AV1, AV2, etc. channel
