QUOTE(MyRedz @ Sep 13 2009, 12:32 PM) how to know the model of my eepc? is it on the barcode at the baack? Thats the information pasted at the bottom of your EEEPC. Now remember only models 4G and above the Rams can be upgraded. 2G Models of the EEEPC have their RAMs soldered in hence it cannot be upgraded anymore.

There's no difference between a Laptop and a netbook or a normal PC. Performance might be a little slower but not slow enough that there is a huge difference between a normal desktop and a normal Laptop vs a netbook. As long as it runs on the machine, itll run normally on the netbook. Have you seen my posts on what I do with my Netbook ? Its mostly on par with most of the stuff thats out there right now.

QUOTE(booby @ Sep 16 2009, 04:25 PM) im just wondering if all the 1000 series using the same battery? Not all of the Asus 1000 series uses the same battery. The Asus 1000HE uses a different battery than say the 1008 and 1005 series. While both the latter uses the same battery in order to keep the same slimline appearance, the Asus 1000HE is still using a larger model of the battery. Not to be mistaken with the 1000HA and 1000 series which use again a totally different type of battery.
In short, the usage are as below. 1000HD, 1000H, 1000HA, 1000 uses the 6-cell Li-Ion, 6600 mAh 7.4V (4.2h - 7.8h). 1002HA uses the 2 cell Lithium-Polymer, 4200 mAh 7.4V (5h Win XP) 1000HE uses a 6 cell Lithium-Polymer, 8700 mAh 7.4V (9.5h Win XP) 1005, 1008HA series uses another type of battery, at which this time, I cant recall

I accidentally knocked my EeePC 901 and damaged the LCD. Replacing it would cost RM500. Buying newer models would be more cost effective, but I opted for repairs since its my baby. Will probably get it back next week.

QUOTE(jerren @ Oct 7 2009, 11:30 PM) just get into the system bios "look look see see" then it will detect as 2gb?? Nope, thats to see if there's a problem with BIOS detecting it or your Windows detecting it, ie System Properties. And more info would help as in the make of the Ram. Some DDR800 has problems being detected in DDR667 machines.
Emino, That must have hurt bigtime.
