I think my M3400's wired controller is gonna spoil soon, there is some cracking and hissing sound when i turn the volume knob.
Does Edifier sell replacement knobs for M3400?

QUOTE(soundstream @ Dec 31 2009, 09:17 AM) After setting up the C3 to my PC system. I found that there's a knocking sound during the bass and treble change. Is it normal ? NO, not normal. Suggest you rma that set immediately lor...Also, it seems my treble cut-off if it is tune above +2. +3 onwards the speaker died. Any reason behind it ? Btw, i'm using intergrated sound card from motherboard. Please advice... Thxs! |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Feb 13 2010, 12:02 PM) unboxing my Edifier C3 now!!!! It would probably make some obvious improvements. Did you position your speaker correctly? Try put the woofer at the corner wall, on the floor. Try search google.com on "how to position speaker" or "how to position woofer"One word- AWESOME!! On the downside, the subwoofer is such a let down.Extremely weak....in fact weaker than my previous speaker set I know before buying that its woofer is weak.....but certainly not to the extent of being this weak Can external sound card like Asus Xonar U1 solve the bass problem.Perhaps it can improve the bass power Am i having a defective subwoofer??How to test? In general, Never put a subwoofer on a table Never put a subwoofer in the center between 2 walls WRONG Left Wall (corner) |--------------------------woofer----------------------- | Right wall (corner) This post has been edited by andrew9292: Feb 14 2010, 12:16 AM |

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Feb 13 2010, 11:32 PM) haha...from my observations with edifier starting with one month old S730,,,i think edifier is very terrer in very tight bass...if u r hardcore bass head,,,then u should have considered the overpriced Z5500 instead Those sound cards you mentioned are great cards, almost top end for normal PC consumer grade sound cards (non recording purpose).anyway i like 2 ask which sound card is suitable 4 my S730...i ardy puas listening via on board sound n decided 2 get a sound card with ang pow money http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=zCDH...HK2f&templete=2 http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ZBWhAEnH6nDOB00E So yeah, you can go ahead get any one of them, no problem. Alternatively you can get Audiotrak Prodigy HD2 (2.1 channel only) for music playback, it's about the same level with the Asus card's, but much cheaper, and it lets you change the opamps used on the card, just like the Asus(s). Basically it's 3 opamps, and you can replace these 3 small little chips with others, which can give you better sound and it enables tune the sound to your liking ; ) but i have to warn you, once you start playing with opamp upgrade/sound customization, you cant probably stop anytime soon ;p This post has been edited by andrew9292: Feb 14 2010, 12:31 AM |

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Mar 7 2010, 10:22 AM) S330, second hand unit though, reporting in X-Fi Extreme Music is selling at garage sales music and audio section for rm180...that's the best you can get for low budget.pairing with on-board ALC1200 sound chip, any idea which budget sound card will make the speaker shines? or the ALC1200 is enough? Dont get audigy or the SB Live series, wont make much of a difference |

Bright: High-frequency emphasis. Harmonics are strong relative to fundamentals.

QUOTE(nismo91 @ Mar 7 2010, 07:40 PM) the R501 is cheap because it is a no-frills system. remember it only have on-off switch it doesnt have any button, all relies on remote, which is good for ppl like me who never need headphone jack or volume knob. S330 is based on S series, but i dont find it good. the subwoofer is muddy when knob is set at max. the only good thing is the satellites that is bright, means can hear clearly. Agreed, S330 is bright and slightly muddy. The location of the woofer and material around the woofer (wooden floor, wooden table etc) will determine it's sound, muddy or tight or thick or low. The problem is there is no treble control for the satellites, so you cant really "match" the sats and woofer when the bass is too boomy or light etc...the r501 has more midrange which covers most of the human sound and some instruments, which makes it sounds "full", not dry. nevertheless the R501 is not plenty with midrange, but for 400 price its an excellent 5.1 system. no doubt. Went audition kao kao di, planning to get one of them soon ; ) |

QUOTE(chchyong89 @ Mar 7 2010, 08:07 PM) i believe u cannot tune up S330 to loud volume because that's the capability of this model, u will get a very bright and annoying sound. But for music enjoying, u won't even need to crank up the volume to that(high) level, that's another story if you a freaking bass head that need loud volume part with ur life whole night long... Yeap, but i'm no bass head, i like quality bass just enough to support the music ; ) treble control would make it better if you wanna match the tone of the sats with the woofer, and the woofer's sound and tone is always affected by it's surrounding material... so yeah a treb control would be nice. Sometimes i find the s330 has very boomy bass on Shop A, then in Shop B it sounds solid and full etc ( my own source, i do play with the settings )... so yeah that's just my concern if i get it. How would it be in my room? hmm... it's interesting to hear how different it sounds from environment to environment, then you can see the material around and position of the speakers and try to analyze why does it sound like that. LOL. call me a freak Considering the C3 also... both are good speakers, but need to think and predict carefully which would sound the best in the room ; ) This post has been edited by andrew9292: Mar 7 2010, 08:23 PM |

QUOTE(nismo91 @ Mar 7 2010, 08:15 PM) actually the case some of edifier is classic, it will get very boomy if you set the knob to more than 75%. the problem is there isn't any treble controller to match so the bass is always lacking. if cranked will get boomy, otherwise not enough bass. the case with my edifier X300, M3300, R501 even MP300. yeah very true, but they are still really good speakers when compared around the same price range ; )lucky now i have the solution for it, still, it requires me not to set the bass any higher than 3/4. i usually set mine to 2 or 3mm pass half-knob. my room & table somehow makes the low bass resonate a lot... if i increase it more, pening kepala |
