this one is tricky. Everton are tough to beat and now more so as they are fighting for Europe spots.
a draw would be nice! |

there's a lot of "buzz" about potentially signing Cisse. personally, i do not really want him and i do not think he adds much to our side.

redknapp keeps mentioning he has 3 players in mind. i wonder who they are and what positions. my guess is that there would be 1 striker (to replace Bent), 1 left winger, and 1 central defender (to cover King)

QUOTE(spursfan @ May 25 2009, 08:49 AM) 8th is not bad ... not bad at all ... considering our epic early season ... Gomes: Finally showing a safe pair of hands after coaching from Tony Parksa quick review of our team gomes: inconsistent king: does not train, but plays very well woodgate: when paired with king, we can expect a clean sheet dawson: decent corluka: good signing, combines well with lennon hutton: decent with bentley, does not work well with lennon though BAE: very good improvement under redknapp Bale: needs to learn some basic defending chimbonda and rocha: why do we still have them? palacios: our midfield saviour jenas: inconsistent but have his moments, hardworking, shines when palacios does all the dirty work huddlestone: needs some cover in the midfield to play well like jenas zokora: poor lennon: rediscovered his form under redknapp bentley: a waste of good money modric: our creative midfield force ohara: decent young player, needs more experience bent: our top scorer pav: still learning english? keane: not as good as he used to be defoe: our best striker atm plus some youngsters who needs more exposure ... won't mind seeing them more squad looks ok since were not in europe ... i wonder who's coming and leaving this summer (hope it's not downing) King: Needs to get healthy but when he plays, he is awesome. Just need more games from him if possible Woodie: Slotting in nicely in the heart of our D. Occasional lapse in marking Dawson: Continues to get better and has learnt a lot from his team mates BAE: Agree, superb improvement under Redknapp Corluka: Nice signing. Hutton: He is quality. Hope he stays. Palacios: Quality...the steel we needed in a Defensive Midfielder, great in disrupting opponents flow Huddlestone: Has good days...and then some really bad ones. Not sure if he will stick around with the lack of starts given to him at WHL Jenas: maybe it is time to go...? Lennon: Finally knows how to cross but needs to be even more accurate. Bentley: Off to Villa with you.... Modric: Please stay!...absolutely the Player of the Year in Spurs for me. My take is that he sticks around one more season before some idiotic team in the Top 4 takes him away O'Hara: Great potential...keep at it. Bent: On his way to Wolves I am sure....and he will score against us when we play Wolves next season.... Pav: Good finisher but needs a real summer off to rest... Keane: Needs to motivate more as Captain, and take over the game if needed. Defoe: More goals needed, and needs a good striking partner that is not Keane. |

i still feel Modric is best when he sits between midfield and the strikers. it gives him the ability to roam left and right. the problem is that Keane also likes to play this role.
for left wing, i really want us to get a good left winger. yet at the same time, i would love for harry to experiment converting Bale into a left winger. he is size and speed and the problem with him at left back is that he likes to attack....so why not left winger right?!!! QUOTE(Deadman_Inc @ Jun 3 2009, 12:26 PM) We use to employ this formation in the 2 season (2005-2007) where we end up at 5th place, and yes we can rely on only palacios as we did in carrick before. To me, Palacios does not seem to be similar to the Carrick package. Carrick can distribute long range (like Huddlestone does sometimes) while Palacios hasn't shown that quality yet. |

I thought it would be fun to list our HIGH point and LOW point of the season (in your opinion of course). I'll start:
LOW PT: Losing to Boro and Sunderland at the start of the season. HIGH PT: That fantastic stretch from the end of Oct to early Nov where we drew with Arsenal 4-4 away, the 2-1 and 4-2 wins over Liverpool. That was MAGICAL! What about you guys? |

(kinda proud of that is we know that for several years, we're not really fancied for our defence prowess) all in all, i think if v bring some quality players in particularly left winger, another CB and a DM we should be ok. don't need to buy 5 or 6 players every season. |
