let's just enjoy the awesome feeling of starting strong out of the blocks. we've not had 6 pts from 2 games for many years now.

perhaps we are seeing the benefits of a consistent squad. the fact that we didn't buy many new players and also retained most of the starting 11 from the 2nd half of last season is helping players understand their roles. with Modric and Lennon on the wings, we have got width now so we can stop playing the long ball. Keane and Defoe can also bring the ball from midfield OR distract the defence with their movement, hopefully allowing Modric to come inside even.

On the counter (if the opposing team breaks forward), we got Palacios to break things up and help ensure we didn't over commit our players too far forward on attacks.

in our defence, Corluka, BAE, Bassong, Woody, Hutton, King, Dawson all give us options and they are keeping their shape well.

so in short...we are getting balanced!

again, we worked for the win with a gift from Carlton Cole. Lennon was ta-paoing Spector the whole afternoon and my friend and i were saying that he should run at Spector more...and true enough, he got a goal from the right wing.

the next match on our radar is the 2nd round Carling Cup encounter at Doncaster Rovers. i believe Harry will field half of our regular starters and Crouch or Pav is going to be on the field as well.
