It's not really false news, but it has some fake content in it. They said they "hacked" 3000 units, but actually, all they accomplished was to boot a psp3000 unit into service mode with no screen at all. The pre-ipl code still needs to be broken. I believe some part of it was broken by a psp hacker named BrokenCodes.

hmm, need to wait for new tool for the new mobo..it's should b out soon wth, how come someone is charging ppl for updating the firmware of the psp ..and no offence..someone which we hardly seen in this thread xD

but honestly i don't want them to hack so it could attract Devs of making better games.... Sony needs this one psp just to sell games... if they do hack it... no developer is going to want to work with the psp...

@nur_dalilah, u could get modded psp then..can get from either SCE or Bernardmoh, 2 of our good sellers in lyn forums (maybe should ask my friend to get me that Datel tool..)

I already check their thread but I think I prefer buy at Sony Centre becuz I think the price is only expensive a bit.

Here is my estimate cost (according to price at Garage Sales):

PSP (Sony Centre) - RM799
Ori SanDisk 4GB Memory Card - RM100
Accessories - Around RM60

Total = Around RM 960++

And yeah, I need to pay to modify for custom firmware

So, the REAL TOTAL = around RM 990

Plus, I went to Best Denki, they offer 1 free game + Sony T-shirt, don't know if Sony Centre still offer this becuz I went to Mid Valley Sony Centre long time ago, they offer the same.

GOW version is very hard to find now. I asked sce, also out of stock. GOW is also ok for me if the price right.
