You can play flash games. They don't perform at their very best, but at least, you can play them smile.gif

You can also try some flash applications like DIGIPlay that has a LOT of flash related functions.

popeye3rd, why do you need 5.01? It's an official firmware, and if you update to it, you will loose the ability to run homebrew as well as dumped games. If you mean 5.00m33, then it's good smile.gif

Note : There have been many cases of bricks upon upgrade,so it's up to you to take the risk.Otherwise,it's all good.

Requirements :
1)A phat/slim psp which has custom firmware 3.52m33-3 or any firmware above it.
*Minimum requirement is 3.52m33-3*

Guide

1) First of all,you need to set your kernel to 3.xx/4.xx.You can do so in recovery mode or in your VSH menu (if you have the VSH addon plugin installed)

**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds, then HOLD R and boot your psp up.Now go to configuration, and click X at the "Game Folder Homebrew" option until it displays as 3.xx/4.xx kernel.Example : On a 3.52m33-3/4 psp,it should show as 3.52 kernel.

2) Download the 5.00M33 installer : http://exophase.com/files/psp/5.00M33.rar

3) Download the 5.00 eboot.pbp : http://exophase.com/files/psp/500.PBP

4) Use your preferred software to extract the 5.00M33 rar file. You should now get two folders (UPDATE and Translate) as well as a readme.txt file.

5) Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in ms0:/PSP/GAME.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp **

6)Time,for the 5.00 eboot (step 2).

7) Copy the 500.PBP and paste it in your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 500.pbp **

8) That's all, seriously. All you need to do now is to run the installer on your PSP.

** The installer will seem very official like, but don't worry, that's how it's supposed to be like **

9) Remember, once the update is over,PRESS X/O when it asks you to do so or your psp will brick!!

10) What else,enjoy!

I've read somewhere that with 3.71 some PSP can use 16GB and some can't. But that depends I think.

I'm currently using 5.00m33-3 with 16GB (8GB x2 MicroSDHC) with no problems.

Please don't upgrade to 5.01 firmware as you can't play homebrews and ISO/CSO with it.

sifus,

i've updated to 3.90 m33, but the umd readiing at startup is still there, even after setting umd driver to sony np.

the circle button still appears at bottom right corner.

Hmm, try scrolling to "Settings", and set "Run UMD At Startup" to "Disable".

I'm not sure at all that it would help, but in this sort of situations, you should try everything.

Well, if you do NOT have a Pandora proof motherboard, then yes, you can do so using a Pandora's Battery. The only way to know if you have a Pandora proof motherboard or not is by using a Pandora's Battery on it. If it fails to load, then you have a Pandora proof motherboard, else, you're in luck smile.gif

Contact Lacus or benwong for good Pandora service. smile.gif

About the memory stick compatibility, i'm not sure at all.
Why don't you try using your 8GB memory stick on your 3.71m33 unit first. If it fails to function, then go ahead and upgrade seeing that 8GB's and 16GB's work fine on 5.00M33. And yes, as blurjoey said, do NOT upgrade to official firmware 5.01. By doing so, you will loose all your homebrew and iso capabilities. No more custom firmware = *shudder*

my_voy, it's not the matter of finding it. You can either create it, buy it, or just ask some friend of yours to help you on it. I'd say, go for the third option, and seek help from either Lacus or Benwong88.

If you want to create on, you'll have to buy a new Pandora (Not a must, but advisable), a new memory stick (same as the battery), and you'll need access to an already hacked unit. Then, you have to run the memory stick on your PC or PSP (Depending on which method you prefer), and run the battery creator tool on your psp.

I wouldn't say that it's very hard to make and so on. It's just that it's much easier and much cheaper to just go to people who provide good Pandora service. Worse come to worse, you can send your battery to someone who is willing to do it for you.
