but the CFW in PSP3000 doesn't mean it can run ahem games rite ?

It most probably would be able to run iso games, but we shall see once the developers over at GEN release more information on their latest hack.

hmm hmm... i think sony should have realized that, without cfw or HEN psp's, their sales and market value would drop a whole bunch....

and after cfw(or HEN) is confirmed operational on psp3k as well as the psp2k-088v3, sales, market value & shares would skyrocket.

maybe they're just biding their time... in a year or so when *almost* everyone has a psp3k and is just waiting for another dax miracle...

No doubt with HomeBrew and CFW, PSP sales has been increased but that is also the reason why Developer is losing their faith on PSP. Hence not many great titles is coming out lately.

The main concept is, if there isn't CFW for PSP, developer will be making money for their games, hence they will work harder to make great games for PSP and that will eventually boost the sales of PSP instead of Sony just selling PSP where the game developer making less profit? Sony needs game Developer to keep PSP Scene alive. If the developer is not able to sustain then they will not make games for PSP and eventually sales for PSP will drop as well~

if the game is good people still opt for originals. it's what makes it worth buying. game developers never seem to cease in numbers, great titles are only ever so rare.

Yes it is easy to upgrade to 5.01m33-4 using that instructions. You follow the instructions and you will be fine and your PSP with the latest firmware too.

If you're still scared you can look for Lacus who provides this services for very cheap compare to you getting from those shops.

but that reminds me of the PS2, isn't that time PS2 also fulled with pirated DVDs, yet it still the no.1 console with many great games at the time. Yes, that time XBOX is the newly launch and ppl has no faith in XBOX yet as the controlling system is very different EG: In this racing game, acceleration is this button while in another racing game, the acceleration button is that button. However in PS2 it is the same old X button since PSX. Gamecube isnt that as well thats why PS2 is leading. Not only that, most of the games is exclusive in PS2

Well programming is another thing XBOX360 attracted many programmers because programming the game there is easier than in PS3. Meanwhile Wii has totally different type of controls which involve accelerometer , infrared , bluetooth and it is something fresh.

This year should be the year, lets see how well PS3 can perform. More and more games coming, most important is someone should freaking ahem it so I could get myself 1 unit also LULZ. Awaiting PS3 to be ahem-ed before i buy it

deady, i'm sorry to say, but paying for a custom firmware update is extremely silly. Follow this guide of mine, and upgrade your unit mate

Requirements :
1)A phat/slim psp which has custom firmware 3.52m33-3 or any firmware above it.
*Minimum requirement is 3.52m33-3*

Guide

1) First of all,you need to set your kernel to 3.xx/4.xx.You can do so in recovery mode or in your VSH menu (if you have the VSH addon plugin installed)

**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds,then HOLD R and boot your psp up.Now go to configuration,and click X at the "Game Folder Homebrew" option until it displays as 3.xx/4.xx kernel.Example : On a 3.52m33-3/4 psp,it should show as 3.52 kernel.

2) Download the 5.00M33 installer : http://exophase.com/files/psp/5.00M33.rar

3) Download the 5.00 eboot.pbp : http://exophase.com/files/psp/500.PBP

4) Use your preferred software to extract the 5.00M33 rar file.You should now get two folders (UPDATE and Translate) as well as a readme.txt file.

5) Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in ms0:/PSP/GAME.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp **

6)Time,for the 5.00 eboot (step 2).

7) Copy the 500.PBP and paste it in your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 500.pbp **

8) That's all,seriously.All you need to do now is to run the installer on your PSP.

** The installer will seem very official like,but don't worry,that's how it's supposed to be like **

9) Remember,once the update is over,PRESS X/O when it asks you to do so or your psp will brick!!
