last monday, i went to lowyat plaza looking for some stuff.

i saw game shops, made me realized that i wanted to buy the 5 pins component cable to play PSP on TV.

so i went to 1 shop, she quoted me RM120. well at that moment, i dont have the intention to buy but just wanna know whats the price for that cable. i donno if thats the price range or wat, i dun even bargain for the price. so i said, nvmind thank you n left.

then i asked for that cable from other shop in lowyat plaza, he asked me "u want to play on LCD?" i said no, just normal TV, he said cannot play on normal TV, only LCD or plasma TV... so since he said that to me, then i left.

my question is :-

whats the price range for 5 pins component cable? is RM120 as the 1st shop quoted me is expensive or cheap or so-so?

is it true, PSP + 5 pins component cable cant work on normal TV but only on LCD or PLASMA TV?

i wondered to myself "if i can afford to buy LCD or PLASMA TV which cost me +/- RM3k, why should i play PSP on the expensive TV? i think better play PS3 with that hi-tech TV" biggrin.gif

heh, i've been using the psp for about 3 years + now (Going to be the fourth year), and yes, i'm quite bored of playing games. If it's not for homebrew, i would have long dumped it. (Kiddin'... i would never dump it lol biggrin.gif )

heh.. i'm maximizing the gaming & internet part, but i don't really do homebrew or media... i'm leaving those 2 out just in case i DO get bored with the first 2.. wahahahahha

which is very unlikely because of psx games support. HOHOHOHOHO

No man, it's not true. There is no custom firmware for it yet, so iso loading isn't possible for the time being. Homebrew, however can be run on psp3000 units IF you have a game called GripShift (UMD of course), and if you have some psp programming ability. All you need then is Freeplay's and MaTiAz's sparta! hello world. But yea, that would be stupid. I'd say, get a psp 2000 which already has custom firmware on it. tongue.gif

They did not manage to crack it yet. The most recent hack for it is the Sparta! hack by both MaTiAz and Freeplay, and no, you still cannot access kernel mode using it. This exploit can only be used if you have access to GripShift...UMD of course tongue.gif

For those who have the CR5400 and interested to get MicroSDHC, i just went to ALL IT Digital Mall yesterday and they have Class 6 8GB MicroSDHC for sale at only RM75 before bargain. One hell of a deal as i got mine from Sri Computer a few days ago at RM90.

Alright, first, it depends on your psp's motherboard. If it's not a TA088v3 ++, (a.k.a Pandora proof mobo's), then you would be able to install custom firmware on it using a Pandora's Battery and a Magic Memory Stick. Your current firmware doesn't really matter, and the only way to know if your mother board is Pandora proof or not, is to put it to the test. Go ahead and meet up with either Lacus, benwong88 or any other forummer out there, and give their Pandora service a shot.

and trust me, ive already put psp to the limit. fry a few mobos, overheating mobo, just to squeeze its potential to the limit. speaker mod, led mod, improving wifi antenna, heck if you
dissemble the whole psp parts, i can even put it back blind folded. and im dead serious tongue.gif
alot of ppl dont know phat have motion detector while slim dont..

heh, i agree with wetfusion. Firmware updates were like MAJOR updates those days. People would be freaking out in fear of bricks and all, but now days, it's just like buying a roti canai at a mamak stall.

yup.. totally right.
but thats is a different case if you are comparing psp2k with ta88v3 mobo and psp3k

well you see the time lag between the mobo are like this

ta85 (hackable) > ta88v1&v2 (hackable) > ta88v3 ( not hackable) > afew month later sony produce ta90 that can be hack... how weird is that??? > psp3k release, psp3k is using psp2k ta90 mobo, thats why DA said it is hackable, but got a new batery IPL safety stuff.
