PSP 4000 Series Coming This Christmas

Sony let out details about a new console they are planning on releasing this year before christmas.

In an unanticipated move, Sony have announced details on their next portable gaming console in its PlayStation® Portable range, dubbed PSP-4000.

In a statement at a recent press conference, SCEE president David Reeves announced the decision for the hardware update.

What's unusual about this move is that it follows the release of Sony's new console, the PSP-3000, which hit the shelves less than a month ago. Speculators believe that this sooner than expected update was made by Sony in an attempt to give it a competitive advantage over Nintendo's new DSi.

Details on this new model were sketchy however. Reeves announced that the new model is expected to be available before Christmas this year, but the price had yet to be finalized. The new model builds on the PSP-2000's "slim and lite" design, and the PSP-3000's improved screen and built-in microphone, and adds an improved processing unit.

Sony announced details on making PlayStation® 2 games available for download via its PlayStation® Store, which could then be transferred to and played on the PSP-4000.

Critics of the PSP™ say that the system's main weakness is it's lack of quality games, and some believe that Sony is relying on the strength and popularity of its aging console to improve the sales of its current generation systems, the PlayStation® Portable and PlayStation® 3.

mine stil 3.80 if not mistaken...
anyway can someone xplain the advantages of this new cfw???

they wont brick ur psp, unless  u pandai2 kacau the flash0 folder for no reason...always backup ur flash0 b4 doing anything to ur psp

downgrade use pandora if not mistaken.. cxmb can work only with its own firmware..if yours is 5.00m33-4, can use only 5.00 theme..mine 5.00m33-4, use cxmb thme for 5.00 can lor..

backup 1st, then delete..

dont worry, dat 1 xkacau ur flash0, so no chance of unbrick..

yup, u are correct, but large memory card, 16gb like dat, may coz lag oso, coz it reads from memory card ma..

Can kindly show me the step to upgrade from firmware 3.90 to 5.00m33-4 anot???
Cant find any video on youtube... i just got back my PSP 2days...
Still a newbie...

Note : There have been many cases of bricks upon upgrade,so it's up to you to take the risk.Otherwise,it's all good.


Requirements :
1)A phat/slim psp which has custom firmware 3.52m33-3 or any firmware above it.
*Minimum requirement is 3.52m33-3*

Guide

1) First of all,you need to set your kernel to 3.xx/4.xx.You can do so in recovery mode or in your VSH menu (if you have the VSH addon plugin installed)

**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds,then HOLD R and boot your psp up.Now go to configuration,and click X at the "Game Folder Homebrew" option until it displays as 3.xx/4.xx kernel.Example : On a 3.52m33-3/4 psp,it should show as 3.52 kernel.

2) Download the 5.00M33 installer : http://exophase.com/files/psp/5.00M33.rar

3) Download the 5.00 eboot.pbp : http://exophase.com/files/psp/500.PBP

4) Use your preferred software to extract the 5.00M33 rar file.You should now get two folders (UPDATE and Translate) as well as a readme.txt file.

5) Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in ms0:/PSP/GAME.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp **

6)Time,for the 5.00 eboot (step 2).

7) Copy the 500.PBP and paste it in your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 500.pbp **

8) That's all,seriously.All you need to do now is to run the installer on your PSP.

** The installer will seem very official like,but don't worry,that's how it's supposed to be like **

9) Remember,once the update is over,PRESS X/O when it asks you to do so or your psp will brick!!

juz tried it wont run on firmware 5.00 .....

she angry i play too much.. mine psp 2k gow limited ed.. if i want sell i would sell all the stuff include gow umd game n 1 umd movie.. how much could i put if i want to sell? got wrranty around 6 month left..

is there any solution if there is a "thin blue vertical line" appears on the side of the screen?

i have successfully installed cfw version 5.00 m33-4
using guide from tutorial section pspso (softmode my battery +make magic memory stick) all doing fine.but.....

but, when i want to start play game(iso,cso) it shown unknown code and i cant load my game.(umd game work well)


really need help.plz.
