The is always such saying, "when u used to MPV or 4wheels, you won't go back to saloon car anymore". I think it's true and I agree with Mr Crossover, Eastar is excellent for us for the time being.

QUOTE(dynasan @ May 11 2009, 12:44 PM) Last time I complained the squeaking sound, they spend 1 whole day to solve it, dismantling the whole dash board and also opened the mud-guard (left)...then they concluded it had to do with the chasis Today, I did not complain for them to solve it but after collecting the car, the squeaking sound was solved, so I really do not had a clue what had they did, what I see is that they'd apply some greases on the door, maybe this had solved the squeaking sound...I'll post some photos later on the area that they'd applied the greases. Thanks Dynasan for the info. I remember u hv complained abt the annoying "clicking sound" from right side of the dashboard. Have they solved it for u? Is that what u mean they solved it for you? Or different case! My car started to have this "clicking noise" especially the dashboard is heated under the sun. If PJ SC can solve this problem, that will be great! Looking forward to solve the issue. |

QUOTE(dynasan @ May 11 2009, 03:54 PM) out of my surprise, after the service...now I'd much quite ride, no more squeaking and clicking sound appear on the dashboard...it was miracle... smliu, last time my squeaking sound was on the left side, now it is solved, besides I'd sound on the right dashboard and I opened the central console (speedometer) and realigned the gap and closed it back, the sound disappear after that....you can try open up the console by opening the three screws and slide-in some rubber mat in between. (I use the antislip mat), you need to slide it far in until near the end touching the speadometer cover and close it back. Hope this help. Added on May 11, 2009, 4:13 pmhttp://www.chinacartimes.com/2009/04/15/chery-eastar-cross-gets-the-riich-treatment/ Dynasan, how u solved the left side dashboard sound? It is very annoying too. Please teach me how to do that. The central console, I have done that as per yr instruction. Hope it will get "well". Hmm! Thank again for the useful information, Dynasan. |

For those who want to open up the center console to solve the "clicking noise" problem, please note that Dynasan said, "alignment"; between the black plastic and the transperant speedometer plastic. After opening the 3 screws, open a gap and look far inside. You may see 3 protuded transperant plastic belong to speedometer, make sure they are fitted into the gaps of the black plastic. If the transperant plastic is on top of the black plastic, it rubs against the transperant plastic producing the click sound at the center. After alignment, the center console is quiet a bit but the left side of the dashboard still having those "click noise". When u use yr hand to push the dashboard slightly, you can hear more of these plastic rubbing plastic sound. Too bad!
Sorry guys, forgot to take picture for reference. This matter should be made known to Chery designer/engineer. Improvement is necessary! Added on May 12, 2009, 4:32 pmIt is a good news for all Eastar owners. Eastar can use RON95 at a cheaper price! Cheers for Eastar! This post has been edited by smliu: May 12 2009, 04:32 PM |

Little thing that can help the car battery longer. If u wish to extend the life span of yr car battery, try this. When we reaching the destination or our home, turn off the A/C & head light few seconds b4 we turn off the engine. Let this few seconds for the battery to recharge b4 the next use. Now I am having this habbit. Everytime when I abt to reach home or infront of my house gate, I turn off the A/C compressor(leaving the blower on) & head lights(leaving the small light on), the drive into my house, totally off the A/C & all lights few seconds b4 I turn off the engine. Likewise, do not start the car with the headlight on or A/C on(a/c is not so much bcos controlled by CPU). This good habbit should be practise so that we will not get much problem from the battery later.

Terima kasih terdahulu... Drom, tak perlu menanggalkan "jaket" tu...utk buang garam di terminal bateri, guna air panas atau guna carberator cleaner spray. Lepas tu, guna Maxcillin Silicone spray utk protect terminal bateri dari air acid. "Jaket" tu menang basah kena air, cuci dgn banyak air lagi....biarkan shj ianya akan kering sendiri; lebih cepat kering bila engin panas. Hope this will help. |

Long distance should be around 18~20cents/km, even town driving is below 26cents though. Maybe mis-counting kah!

QUOTE(Chery new friend @ May 17 2009, 07:23 PM) CNF, I remember you have posted similar photos b4(or web link) and I have done this insulation on my Eastar, reduce the sound to small percentage. Good feeling when u look at the doors, you don't see any gap. For sound transmission into the car, most sound come from the 8 holes and other holes under the chassis. Once they are closed up, sound insulation is very good. Oh, not to forget the sound through the side mirror is also significant, need to be closed up too. Good sharing. Because of these photos, I have done a lot of improvement to my Eastar. Thanks. Some pictures for sharing, don't laugh at my rough work ya! QUOTE(Crossover @ May 17 2009, 10:58 PM) CNF, thank for the upload for the Sepang Event, u really make us feel proud to own Chery, well, even not having this photo, I am very proud to have chery, the more i drive, the most i love it... smliu, The door gap insulator, what u use this time? How would i get hold of the material?? U are right, the main noise coming from the 8 holes at the bottom of the chasis, however, the 2 biggest holes located at near the bilateral main beam, it is really diff to cover it, i had use the flashband to cover 3 time, it still fell down.. do u experience the same situation? All the flashband are still intact. Ok, do it this way. Make sure the surface is clean & free from oil. Warm the flashband and attach a small piece to it, use a wooden(rubber) hammer to affix it. Redo it with a bigger piece to make it double layers. As for the door gap insulator, will let u know once I got the picture to upload. |

As promised, here are some photos for sharing. The material is door and window weather strip. Note the model: RP48. There are two color; white & brown. Each come with twin strip which can be tear apart. B4 stick to the door gap, clean the "glove" & make sure oil, wax, polish free. One of the photo showing the brown strip stick to the door rubber which help to reduce wind noise from the door rubber seal. No harm done, the strip can be removed easily if you don't fixed it to the wrong place. For those who are interested DIY only.
P/S: The photos are for perosonal sharing only, DIY at yr own risk. Attached thumbnail(s) |
