QUOTE(Crossover @ May 18 2009, 08:09 PM) smliu, Wonderful job for ur door insulation... fortunate enough that ur car is a white colour, hence those strip come in the colour u need and do not need to spray before applying it... Regards Nitrogen gas, been to few papers, it memang good for tyre, unfortunately it is widely available in the tyre shop around town, once u inflate it, u have to go back to the same store for the gas, which mean u can't actually check ur tyre pressure anytime u want, as u gotta find place to inflate it. 2nd, there will be a minimum cost for nitrogen. But if the tyre shop very de near, i will inflate mine with Nitrogen, cos it is dam good and it oso use it for aeroplane and some formula cars. Wonder which is the better way to insulate the car, the photo provided by Mr CNF or smliu... As u may see, I am doing just a portion of insulation which is shown on the web site. Of course, if you can find those material, go ahead for full door insulation. I was think to do a complete one but not able to get those bigger size strip. After I tried mine, I feel good enough for sound insulation. My car actually is very silent compare to the time I got it back new. What's bordering me is the dashboard noise; very annoying & irridating. Going to use spay foam to cure this problem. Try this, ask someone to drive, u sit at the left 2nd row, see if u hear something especially rainny day. My son said he can hear water/tire sound from the left rear mirror below. I am going to use spray foam to cure this problem too. So many thing to DIY, still love my Eastar! Gogogo Eastar!

Nope! I travelled few long distance trips and no such problem. In reverse, this air-con system is the best so far I encounter. Digital control, all you need is to tune the correct setting. There are ppl set it wrongly will give different types of problem. For long distance drive, it is not advisible to set the temp too low. Continuous working compressor will drive the condenser(cooler) freezen and it won't be cold at all. Gogogo Eastar. Added on May 19, 2009, 8:45 amQUOTE(Chery new friend @ May 19 2009, 08:25 AM) Chery AC is very powerful.. freezing cool, even my third row seat passenger at few occasion request me to switch to low... well, i never encounter such problem as mentioned by autoworld before, i travel to Penang, to Johor and to East Malaysia before... no problem? people sleep snoring hahaha Hey CNF, how to use yr Eastar to go to East M'sia? Just came back fr SC. Something important all owner must know. Have you seen this "nut converter" in yr car? I was told without this nut converter, we r not able to change the tire with the spanar given. According to information, 2008 model need this converter and 2009 model has been rectified. But mine is 2009 and yet dun hv this nut converter in my tool kit. The nut size is 21 but the spanar given is size 19. So guys, check it out immediately! If u dun hv this piece, you need to spare yrself one spanar size 21. If not, you may end up "nothing can be done" when u hv flat tire. QUOTE(Chery new friend @ May 19 2009, 02:50 PM) i still have the fear to use that shiftronic, you know why? very loose and worry the whole thing will jam up. u know la china product.... ahahaha Shifttronic is electronic control, not mechanical. The +- is a switch and the ECU will response to each signal. No need to put much force and need gentle shift. It is Mitshubishi engine and gear box, no worry. Normal driving, I play around with auto. When I need power, just press the accerelator further down and hold it there. The auto gear will shift down to 3rd or 2nd gear; feel like turbo charge. I only use shiftronic when come to long large gradient slope or winding road. Normal road, auto gear can handle without sweet! CNF, maybe u care for yr car so much, dun want to stress her too much leh! Added on May 19, 2009, 3:17 pmBusyra, the spare part for yr car will arrive today. Check it out! Now I know why, CNF. 7 gears shiftronic is for professional spotman. For us, we hardly remember the characteristic of each gear...how to use then? And we dun encounter so many types of winding road as those in racing, 7 gears shiftronic is too many for normal driving. Hahaha. Good experience for u!

Thank you Cossover for the piece of info for health issue. This is very useful for us who are using the car everyday. No wonder the cnacer rate is increasing everyday. Our body need more anit-oxident to fight against carcinogen. I have installed 2 ionizers inside my car to fight against carcinogen in the air. Very useful! When smoke get into the car, it will disappear in a short while.

QUOTE(jibsifly @ May 24 2009, 02:59 PM) i hv a problem wt my rear tire recently, keep on flat every week, got to pump in air every 3 days,so yesterday brought it to the tire shop to check n found out that the tire got a defect, the tire seems to be crack at the side, any idea wheather i can claim for warranty??my mileage is less than 5k. Oh so bad. What did the tire shop assistant told u? Is it caused by external cut? Or manufacturing crack? If it is manufacturing crack, I am sure u can claim. The tire supplier would have responsible for this if it is manufacturing defect. No worry. Added on May 24, 2009, 4:50 pmGuys, I went to pump air for my tires. My friend helped me to check the spare tire also. Gosh, so low preasure! Got to pump in a lot man. I have not checked this tires since the 1st day(Jan). If u are also like me, it is advisable to check it out. Gogogo Eastar! Happy Sunday! This post has been edited by smliu: May 24 2009, 04:59 PM

School holidays is coming soon, planning to for a distant holidays or balik kampung by driving Eastar? Here is a hint for you. Weather is very "HOT" now a day. Driving could be very "dry" inside a car with aircon for long time. What I normally do....put a small piece of dam cloth(wet thick cloth) on the dashboard. This way will increase the moisture in the car cabin. You will feel refreshing driving under the hot sun. If u stop by for a break, the car is park under the hot sun. Try to spead the wet cloth over the hot dashboard surface. This way will help the aircon to cool down faster. Increasing moisture in the cabin will absorb heat and then condense in the aircon condensor. It helps to carry heat from the cabin to the aircon condensor, and hence the cabin will feel cooler and refreshing. This little tip can help u to enjoy driving Eastar. This does not cost a single cent...worth trying. This post has been edited by smliu: May 24 2009, 08:47 PM

Sorry guys, I dun know why different. Mine is confirmed dry cell by my friend at tire shop(dun know why so special for my car, hehe). When his test equipment arrive, he will help me to test the battery capacity match the car requiremment. Will tell the battery capacity matching and remaining life span. Will let you know once I got the result. I was told this test equipment is available at Mers SC; not many service center has this device. U could be right, even dry cell need to be top up with battery water by mechanic.

Ok, thanks. Will double check when I go a chance to test the battery capacity. This is what my friend told me. This car have to use dry cell bcos the battery is right above the gear box. If normal battery, once it is boil and acid over flow out, it will harm/damage the gear box. Maybe I heard him wrongly....maybe he indicated to me that I should change it to Dry Cell battery liao..... Now I know....no wonder they cover up the battery!
