If that's the case then you really have to go to apple centre to claim warranty..

they'll ask the tech to check your iPod and if they cannot do anything then they'll replace you with a new ones

if u wan cheaper price for ur new baby touch i would recommend u buy from tht for cheaper prices
or if u dont trust any of online purchase
just go for ur nearest machines or epicenter
both of them selling same ipod so nth different
what different is their service when u approach them

If you update, everything will be gone but you can always sync back all your stuff with your iTunes. Or you can right click your iPod Touch on the left side and press backup.

After update you can restore from back up. That's the other alternative.

And for your Q2, before you format your com if you wanna keep your iTunes Music, Videos, Pictures etc you'll have to back up a few files before you format.

Back up Itunes folder from My Music, iPod Photo Cache from My Pictures and after you format, paste it back to the same directory and you'll have all your songs and pictures.

do u guys experienced the ipod display all ur apps musics and video as "others"? then u have to sync it again plus the others remain?

let say ur music is 3gb then it'll go to others, then it'll sync another 3gb to music section.

my question is how do u delete the "other" file without restoring? plus where to get the moshi pouch other than epicentre *repeated question* xD

No if update iTunes will automatically make a backup for u

yup..but it's not totally automatic..after restore iTunes will let u choose whether you want a fresh copy or restore from the settings.

just picked up the ipod touch 32gb in tokyo. I have a few questions i hope you guys could help with since this is my first apple device.

1. The google map application cannot determine my location. Is this normal? other than that i can search etc no problems.
2. how do i use my mobile as a modem to work with my ipod?

thanks for replying! i mean the "other" section. when u sync ur ipod, it will appear the color thing at the bottom representing how much u have used the music partition the video, the apps and got other partition as well, my ipod somehow detect all the files i have sync as other partition, and when i click the sync button, it will remain as others and started to copy a new copy of musics videos and apps making the ipod lesser space...
