Get cylinder type la

I think cylinder type lagi menonjol because it is tall.

Between cylinder and box, I prefer box.

True. Of course the SPL is sealed so the box is much smaller.

All depends on individual taste mah. Like that fellow in SG who has 7 subs in his room in his HDB flat!!

The SPL is not seal type eh??  I thought it is ported with the port on the lower part of the box.
*
Specs on SPL Ultra says sealed. Doesn't say for SPL-R but I think it is sealed.

Seriously, its too much trouble to move the sub.
*
Although it is troublesome to move the sub, if you want a more proper comparison then best to keep the equipment and room the same. The less variables the better smile.gif

No need bro. Between the two I already know which one I like.
*
Oh yeah, now I recall you prefer 10R.

So when is this 10" vs 12" gonna take place? Interesting to see how much diff there is in those 2".

QUOTE(s6xs9x @ Jul 7 2009, 03:20 PM)
anyway YCS has a 10R too so can just run them together.
*
Great, so you've got 10R to sample also.

If got more kaki join in with other subs then can have nice sub shootout like they did on AVS. Too bad I'm not in Klang Valley otherwise I'd bring 12Q along.

Wahlau, seems like our economy is booming soon with the purchasing power like that.

I think our Finance Ministry should thanks crazy ppl like us, the audiophiles by cutting down audio taxes coz we are pushing the economy by spending effortlessly.
*
Purchasing like this isn't benefiting our economy, it benefits US economy.

Not getting the the JTR sub. That one too big. I'm getting JTR T8 speaker. It's very efficient speaker so I'm getting emotiva XPA-5 to drive it. It's sure looks butt ugly but the review by some of the users that immediately sell off their USD 10k plus speaker after listening to JTR speaker demo. Been compare to B&W 800D, Revel, Klipsch THX Ultra speaker. Check it out at avsforum speakers section.

At one point you mentioned the MFW-15. Did you know they are having a sale now? $899 for TWO of them!! Killer bargain.

I know they don't ship overseas unless you can arrange it yourself, like through jmdibr's friend... smile.gif

Dang, that SVS is so much bigger than your main speakers!

I think lately a lot of people have been poisoned by bass and spending a disproportionate amount on a sub compared to the rest of the speakers smile.gif Which brings me to the question: what % should you spend on the sub compared to the rest of the speakers? Found these threads discussing the issue: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thre...-speaker-budget and http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/hom...ker-budget.html

For me the sub is nearly 33% of my 5.1 setup cost. What's yours?

Yes, order volume is important, which I think (no hard feelings) that we are not up to Singaporean's buying spree. They buy it like buying kacang putih even it is abt SGD2K sweat.gif
*
Yeah, the SGD so much stronger than RM. sad.gif Imagine if our RM is strong like that, we would all have elite setup already! biggrin.gif

no .. US ppl baru like buy kacang putih heheh.. 'is 13ultra too much for my 14x16x8 basement' .. answer 'no, u should get 2units'.. this is always what we see in avs forum  blink.gif

US have home ground advantage. Currency is 1:1, no import duties or taxes, much cheaper shipping (or in some cases free shipping). If we were all in US, then will have super-elite setup tongue.gif
