Difference = RM873 = 18.7% (not 66%)
I don't know about the shipping. Just guessing. Hope you can update with more accurate comparison.

Are you saying that SVS sub performance result in more tax and higher shipping?  Now maybe one can explain why the heavy premium on SVS product in malaysia while other speakers brand don't charge such premuim?

We understand where you're coming from on giving us insight and even taking the trouble to do a calculation. Thank you for letting us know the difference in prices and I believe the our AV/Hifi brothers are aware of the prices of the svs compare to the rest of the other subs/speakers.
Like it or not, I believe that there are a few people are still purchasing these SVS at a premium price locally because of the peace of mind where HTkaki has enable buyers to even demo/support & after sales service for SVS; plus for all the trouble he also needs to cari makan. IMHO, he is doing his part as a responsible dealer in Malaysia.
On regards on Velodyne 7% increase only, we have to remember that Velodyne has already factored in , transportation/logistic/storage/dealer/opex/capex etc margin from day one when business open shop. Thats their business module and how they run things from day one. Thats the case for or most of the brands in the market today.

On SVS, business from day 1 has been direct SVS factory ------>direct to customer (Did not factor in Dealers/storage/transportation)
Now SVS wants to have a presence in Asia, so need to factor in the other cost as I mention.

If lets say one day Velodyne decides to have direct Velodyne factory to their customers. I'm sure the CHT12Q would be 30 to 40 % less.
Again its always willing buyer, willing seller.

I would think its a fair price from htkaki for a great subwoofer. As the my previous note, if one would buy from SG its only a mere RM299 +++ savings with hotel difference with the hassle and time one would go through ketam minus added value the after sales support from htkaki.

Different people have different thinking when it comes to money spent.
Some would take the risk for the RM299 ++ savings & some would not bother to go through the trouble for a mere RM299 savings.

htkaki's target market are those who does not want to have to go thru the hassle and would like to have a piece of mind. Price justified with the support given for SVS local dealer.

Nevertheless , SVS subs are great and who choose whichever way either buying it from Singapore or Malaysia. I'm sure they value the SVS even more because of the performance and the sakit hati in forking out a premium for it
