Hard to estimate by eye alone. And I think SVS doesn't release the cone excursion spec.

I set my eyes on another gated community in a popular residential area. If got $$$, sure sapu it. I can build a nice HT room (room in room) on its empty land.

OT a bit, how much are those gated properties in Seremban? Are they semi-d or bungalows? Just wanna compare pricing vs Ipoh; here semi-d in gated community is about 600k - 800k.

If got more moolah, I'll have each channel with a speaker and a sub plus another sub for the .1. Ultimate 'poison / torture' chamber. Time for me to dream.

Excellent dream! I have the same idea too, full range for each channel thumbup.gif

Ha-ha, new way to evaluate a sub - the more your neighbours complain the more powerful it is smile.gif

When you yourself become partially deaf... biggrin.gif

Seriously, some of those guys with multiple powerful subs who claim they hit like 115-120-125 dB I'm surprised their ears are still ok...

Ronnt88 sldn't be too worried about as it is more about 'feel' than 'loudness' whistling.gif
Bass travels far. Turn up the volume enough and your neighbours will feel it too smile.gif

Hi..

I calibrated both my subs(pb12+ n an ol 10incher..) together for a 5db overhead but most of the time (its sufficient wif jus one sub on..), I ll jus on one sub to watch n its usually the bigger one - when de svs bottomed out at 6/7db below reference.
*
What was the volume in your AVR when it bottomed out?

Also what do you mean by "I calibrated both my subs(pb12+ n an ol 10incher..) together for a 5db overhead". You mean the sub is calibrated to be 5dB louder than the rest of the speakers?

So you're getting the PB Ultra instead of the PC Ultra for your own room?

Hehehe...i don't think i want a graph to convince me how good my sub would sound.  As long as I am happy with what I am hearing then I'm OK liaw.
Nothing in this world is perfect and I won't pursue it either.
*
At the end of the day I think you're just facing budget constraints like all of us. Which of us doesn't want a better system? Yes, nothing is perfect but you can get better. There are so many ways to improve a system, better sub, better AVR, better cables, better speakers... the EQ1 is just another component along the way. Whether it is worth it or not is an individual decision.

You say you don't pursue perfection, but I'm sure you pursue for something better. Isn't that why you upgrade to your PC12+?

EQ1 is a dedicated subwoofer correction system. It is adapted from Audyssey MultEQ XT for the bass region.

Generally the flatter the graph the better.

I'm still new at reading waterfall charts. So when you say its not pretty, what do you see?

I assume you used REW to generate the chart?

BTW, I do pay only RM3800 for my PC12+.
Your PC12+ is a special case. Got discount from SVS for the inconvenience, plus didn't have to pay tax because you shipped to Brunei. Consider yourself lucky.

If you didn't get any discount and had to pay 26.5% tax what would the final price have been? Probably around 5k+ I think.

Lighting just stated the truth, else where do you think the extra money goes? He just want us to know how much it cost on other countries, nothing wrong, right? You can ignore him but don't attack him, please.

Htkaki's point is valid too, not many of us can escape of hefty taxes that imposed so we have deal with it...
*
Mentioning how much something costs overseas is ok. But to expect to be able to get it locally at that price is something else. I get the impression that lightning69 likes to compare local SVS price to overseas price (or his own special price for his PC12+) and then will complain how expensive it is here. This is where the comparison becomes unfair since he conveniently ignores the shipping, profit margin and tax issue.

Regarding the 220V issue, this is the first time I'm hearing about it. Anyway, let htkaki clarify this with SVS first then we'll get an update.

I would have thought SVS did obtain 220V certification some time ago. Perhaps they did not since the volume of 220V subs sold was smaller in the past. Now that it is getting more popular and they have more local dealers in 220V countries perhaps it is now time to get 220V certification. This is just my speculation.
