If buy from xoticpc.com, they already added necessary tax into the cart so no need to worry.

The HDD overheating in the NP8662 is solved by a driver update. The temps are similar to some of the other notebooks.

If I'm not mistaken, its Intel Matrix Storage right?
Thanks for that

Here is a picture of the m15x heatsink

As you can see the GPU heatsink is worse than the one inside the G51j, but because its a dual fan solution. It pretty much works out ok. Don't expect a more powerful card unless you want to pay more for a copper heatsink. Copper is more expensive than Aluminium.

Yes. Get it from Intel, not Sager.

May I know why not from Sager, I noticed Sager website has the latest as Intel though

You're right. They only have the latest Win 7 drivers though. If you're still on Vista, use the ones from Intel. Sager normally doesn't update their drivers because most of the Sager users are advanced users and usually take their drivers from all over. Sager users are usually a bit quiet too. Its boring.

I see, thanks for the clarification

Stated before, warranty wise, Dell is easier to deal with since we have Dell in Malaysia!
The rest, Sager pretty much more worth it

good news bro/sis sagers!! NP8690 & NP 8760 now can be customized with either i5 & i7.. Yipee!! lower the overall cost by an additional RM200 to RM400!! smile.gif

Added on April 6, 2010, 5:07 pmOnli question to fellow sagers is whether we can upgrade the cpu to a i7 later if we started off with the i5 first??
*
Actually the sager official website has this option few weeks ago.

Both of these laptops use IntelĀ® PM55, so it supports both i5 and i7. So it is possible to upgrade from i5 to i7 later

I think u can upgrade the CPU once you think the current CPU is not up to the job you need, that is the good thing about Sager

wanna ask...u get it from xoticpc.com or  mucro.asia???  Which is cheaper??  hmm.gif
mucro...about RM 5,139 + free delivery??...same specs..as yours. Any further discounts from mucro??  sweat.gif

Ultimate wifi 6300.. rclxms.gif  but got bluetooth which type?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

But from xoticpc.com is in USD 1545.38 after discount. about RM 5,022.5 (exh 3.25 - USD 1.) + RM200 delivery
Plan to get it...if can get more discount.
Then take out the sager logo..and replace with alien head logo.  brows.gif  and wrap it..

If you buy from Mucro, its slight more expensive, about 200 to 300 ringgit more but if something happen to your laptop, you can send it to KL for servicing if the warranty still valid.
If you buy from XoticPC, its cheaper but warranty wise, you need to send it all the way back to US for servicing. Send your laptop both ways, from MY to US and vice versa will cost you around 300 ringgit.

Hopefully my upgrade will go smooth. Once they email me that they have the GPU in their hands, I will send my laptop back to them for the HD5870 upgrade. Wheee! biggrin.gif

Where you send your laptop to? Mucro? How much they charge you?

Thats the good thing about Sager eh, can upgrade! Both CPU and GPU right?
