Actually, if its similar to the NP8690, 2 HDDs are possible.

If the BIOS is flashed with the 17" BIOS with the CD drive swapped with an optical HDD caddy, then a secondary drive is in effect

But then again, you lose the ability to read CDs

Couple of sources I found, mostly leading to just normally flashing the NP8790 (W870CU) BIOS to the NP8690 (W860CU) BIOS. Many users have done it with success.

Both BIOSes are essentially the same, with the NP8790's having more flexibility and extra features e.g. RAID, HT disabling.

I'm planning to get NP8130/NP8150, but does our custom charge any tax when shipping from mucro asia to malaysia?

and is it possible to upgrade CPU/GPU?

We can "pricematch" anyones price if the shipping option used is POS Malaysia.
Just ask if you were quoted where, when and how much and we *should* be able to offer a lower price provided the shipping used is POS Malaysia. Please remember that our costs are higher because we are using experienced service centres and we need to pay them everytime you have a warranty issue. Also, we have to use Sager's warranties as it is safer to get cover from them.
When you have serious warranty problems, we will ask you to send the laptop/defective part to our office in Singapore, you do not need to send back to the USA. Shipping back to you is free as long as it is covered during warranty period. You might need to pay for shipping to the USA if you are using a US reseller.
Remember our prices have the OS included and you need to remove the OS for a better comparison with the US resellers.

Also Sager says physical damage is not covered so it would be best if you call up a local insurance company to cover the accidental/physical damage for your laptop.

May be an owner of the NP8130 soon, if my current laptop deal goes well tomorrow If my salary comes in time, might even fork in the GTX 485m in~~ Oh my heart died just then haha

I opt for NP8150 which can upgrade to GTX 480M, but not sure if this model able to upgrade future GPU like GTX 500 series.

NP8150 version is a good choice if you wants to upgrade your CPU+GPU to newer one

If you have the money to spare, then yes.

But to me, even the lowest grade Sandy Bridge is able to outperform the i7 by a lot.
The designs of both are good, and durable. But you can't ONLY compare from the design itself; what do you want for your needs is the question you need to ask yourself.

Things like, do I need two/three hard disks? Do I prefer a 17" screen than a 15.6" screen?

However, in terms of temperatures, the 8170 would be superior due to its metal casing. It will definitely absorb the heat build up.

Is it risky owning a Sager? I mean its a wonderful computer, looks great, wonderfully built and extremely customizable....but, paying $300-$500 on postage, and you also end up paying $100 for postage insurance.
Have any of you had to send your Sagers back to the States for repair?

Japan already got GTX 485M + Core i7 2720QM ready...

They can get it ready by early of February. It works like Dell, manufacture on order but not pre-order.

That's weird...it has a good processor + GPU but comes with only a 32bit OS and a 5400RPM drive  But I guess having the 485m and the 2720QM is a good trade off from the lackluster components.
