Hope Chel will counter attack in the second half  nod.gif

That will be a certain.
We just lack the finishing touch.
It has been a great half, with Mikel anchoring the midfield, we just need a tick from Anelka.

Totally agree with Acey's.

We lost to a team that showed us their title credential, and Liverpool could be the team to be stopped this year. They have been good, and greater in today match. To come to the bridge and get maximum points ain't easy stuff, it takes courage and confidence! And Liverpool is a complete team today! they have beaten Man Utd, Chelsea. So next match against Arsenal will be an early indication of their ability.

Back to our side, I always doubt about our attacking ability. Games after games Anelka proves to us that he is not the type of striker that can hold up the defenders alone. He has been anonymous this noon and to be fair, I think we played with 10 men today.

Di Santo on the other hand is good, but he needs more games for experience, he certainly lacks it.

What a waste from Ashley Cole, it would have made him into instant hero of he nicked in the goal.

But it's history now and most importantly is to hold your chin up and look forward.

WOw.. having Kun Aguero... Yummy!!! Neh... but if can get... it's a bonus... I think the current squad is good enough but not superior enough yet... Now consider like cukup makan... we need like... kenyang giler... If Anelka and Di Santo can improve more... it will be superb!!!
*
We need more attacking options as pointed out.

If we are to play lone striker everytime, Aguero is not an option, he's just a link not an out-and-out striker. The ideal lone striker for our team... is very the hard to find seriously lol. Positioning and poaching like Van Nistelrooy with one-touch shots as deadly as Torres. We did have one, Drogba, when he was top scorer. Now gone.
*
Wonder who will be the missing link in our attacking line apart from DD...
We somehow need someone who can hold the ball for midfielders to offer alternative attacking option.

Well... true also... But Malouda... like abit... u know... off form? Deco was like concentrating on getting the perfect pass... till he forget to strike that shot fast and hard... Dunno la... But seems to me... Chelsea were at certain points like... tak semangat... The mood did change when Di Santo and Belletti came in though...
*
The worst on the field IMO is Kalou. He lost many balls and missed shots, not the Kalou we saw in the Man Utd game!

If its linking up, my choice would still be a 100% fit Michael Ballack if Scolari plays him behind the striker. With that experience and size, barging thru defense (if he's willing to) or a simple flick is not a problem for him.
*
Sadly Ballack is aging and well passed his peak. Somehow he can't find his best in Stamford Bridge, but Scolari might get the best out of him.

i never see any striker that always play out of position like him..  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

Anelka is used to play at that way. During his time in Bolton, he will be running left to right, but still scoring goals! Just that he is not used to play as a lone striker, try putting DD with him and I bet it will be a big bang! tongue.gif

big phil : podolski? schweinsteiger ? ahh yes yes all good players. i will try to sign them. david villa? oh this player i think..for now it is impossible. he said he will stay with his team and i think it would be difficult to get him. and also his price..will surely be very very high. too high for chelsea.
(to be read with scolari's unique accent and mannerisms)

what do u guys think? do i make a good impersonation of scolari or what?  tongue.gif
*
Kenyon: I will stick to Di Santo! He is a great player and I don't see why we need to sign another striker in for Chelsea? Oh, we have Sahar as well! tongue.gif

the ball for football is round. whatever things can happen. that was a deflected goal. I'd say I'm proud of my true blue players. they fought well and deserves a praise.
*
I disagree that they fought well.
They deserve the praise for holding such a proud unbeaten home run but not the praise for the way they dictate the game.
We could have lost by a bigger margin had the Alonso shot bounce into the net.
This is simply not the kind of performance expected from a great team, but I expect the Blues to bounce back.

im backing you on that, given the chance, i think di santo might just be able to give us the win. he looks small and thin but he doesnt go down that easy. except the box maybe  whistling.gif

Di Santo is good, I can see talent beneath him, but at the end of the day, he is still a kid.
Sometimes, experiences do count in deciding a game.

And how many times we need to tell LFS that Anelka isn't suitable for the lone striker role?

Who knows, LFS may pair Santo and Anelka? We shall see. rclxms.gif

give Di Santo chances and im sure he will deliver. I think Malouda performances is not good enough for chelsea. Kalou better than him in all areas and i think Malouda should be offload in January
*
Of course Kalou is better, but don't you think he is inconsistent?
See how he performed against Liverpool and you will sum up he was worst than Wrightly, in that single match.

Didn't manage to wake up to watch the game but from what I read, it was indeed a great game from our boys! Well, LFS still stick with lone striker but at least Anelka scored to divert some attention from him. Lamps scored a great goal as well?

I think it's better to use 'bounce-back' instead.

there are many quality players but players who can come on and make the differences for the team are hard to find.

Yes, i think losing Robinho is a big loss to chelsea.
*
Don't think it as that, it is a past.
Though we missed out on him, we still manage to crawl to the top of the table and credit to the boys who have strong fighting spirit.
The biggest lost IMO is Robinho himself, to be performing for an under-performing team, I wonder how long he will stay there?

Any prediction for the midweek Champs League clash against Roma? We all saw how defensive they were in SB. Do you think Roma will be on the offensive side this time? Since they are a goal down? Or will they just rely on counter-attacking due to be slightly afraid in conceding an away goal?
*
Roma have nothing to lose now and my bet is they will go all out to score an early goal to contain Chelsea threat.
That's an advantage to us as we can sit back and counter when possible, though still expect LFS to play more attacking minded football again.
