*
Heys,
believe it or nt RM200, RM200+ is the average..
If you are talking abt realli good ones that can sometimes take you up too RM400 -RM500
And it depends on your foot type too..If you can wear neutral shoes ccube has one going for RM220? RM230?

Sure, wait for the cheap sales la. I bought both my Mizunos (Crusader 2 trainer & Wave Aero racer) at 50-60% off. Right now I'ma stick to Mizunos first. Both of 'em cost me less than RM200 each.

QUOTE(d3vilzzzz)
Hey,
Hw come Davis's price can be cheaper
Me price frm the office ppl at Polar..

You want their phone no. bro?
Mebbe u can call and check too?

I'm not quite sure. Maybe becoz he gets it direct from the US or somewhere. If I add on the shipping costs & credit card charges, it'd still be around RM750 like that.

BTW, awesome timing man.
*
hmm.gif i guess then it maybe more worthwhile to get it frm Davis.. but what abt support?

QUOTE(kirua_zordick @ May 18 2009, 01:32 PM)
Yup, the winner made it under 50 min only....so impressive...i wonder how people can run like dat....im gratefull already to be able tp survive those 2 killer hills....then pancit already by the time arrived at LG huhuhu  cry.gif
*
They train like mad crazy ppl rclxub.gif icon_idea.gif

@madfag
Firstly, buy a shoe which fit your shoe type..do a wet feet test for us to help you out
Secondly, nike free 5.0? use it for warm up runs or for fun..
It is a shoe nt for serious running..as said before if ur serious abt running or want to run regularly on weekdays and then LSD look into getting proper shoes..

Wow!!! 40% discount!!! That's awesome.

I'll do a wet feet test tonight and post the pics. Then, can you recommend a shoe for me please?

Pointers that should help you out in choosing the right shoe for me :
- I run 5 times a week. (Each run at least 5 km with an average pace of 11 km/hr).
- I tend to land on my heel, and it kinda slides gracefully to the whole area of the foot. (Not like 'thump' on my heel...No)
- I'm training for the SCKLIM.
- I'm 61 -65 kg. (Ikut musim haha)
- Oh yeah....I'm size 10.5 US. My feet is wide. If it wasn't, I think I can fit a 10 US.

Hope with these pointers, you can roughly recommend the right shoes for me. Thanks.

P.S I'll post the pics tonight to show you the arch.
*
Heys,

do wet feet test asap laugh.gif our resident shoe pro ccube will help you then without a prb..

do consider nt landing on your heel at all even if it then slides gracefully, try to land on the mid foot (prevents injury to the hip and knee and helps u run faster)..

Size of the shoe in terms of 10, 10.5 me thinks is nt affected by foot width as proper shoes hv sizes nt oni for the length of the foot but oso for the width of the foot.. so e.g. you could still be a size 10 but a size 10 of either c,d or e width

If you like click here for a basic guide to measure both ur feet length and width to get an estimate of your shoe's size and width smile.gif

Heys,

Trying to clock a good time is the best "ingredient" for motivation to run..

@triple
i m nt fast, need lotsa training to clock better times..

@kirua_zordick
Well, if ur in KL, pj or ss2 area you can always come run with us? even during the weekends in LG? smile.gif

@madfag
i guess the cheapest avg shoe would be below RM250

so upcoming event is Klang pacers half marathon?

I think for the all events we should represent LYN, like get some group pics and post up here tongue.gif

Bare in mind it is nt recomended to wear it to train/run regardless of everyday or on alternate days.

I'm answering my own query here.Ā  tongue.gif

I just got from Davis, the Suunto T3C costs RM620, that's without the footpod & he said that the footpod is very expensive. He also didn't give the price for Polar RS200SD, saying that I shud forget about Polar at the moment.
*
If i m nt wrong, suunto t3c, t4c, t6c hv their own foot pods but must bought seprately..
Why didn't he give u a price for the footpod? or do u edi hv the price? I can check for you if you like as CoreZone sells suunto products too

I wonder why forget Polar at the moment..
I knw for a fact that the RS200 and the RS300 models don't hv a prb with support

QUOTE(tenno @ May 19 2009, 10:11 AM)
I'm not quite sure. Proly (& I'm guessing) it's about exclusive distributorship in the country. He's claiming that there's no disti in Malaysia, but who actually brought Polar products in to be sold in Fitness Concept & some bicycle shops ? At the moment it's proly better to purchase Polar from authorized outlets, but the price ...Ā  sweat.gifĀ  I guess I'ma stick to my Timex first la.
*
I think he needs to get his facts right..
There is an official distributor; Hi -Velocity, ask him abt them?

I also dunno about Polar la. But from the price U listed here, about RM900+ right ? Too much for me at the moment la. Maybe U can check the price for Suunto T3C plus the footpod. But judging from the wrist unit price alone, Davis is indeed selling at lower than market price.

Putrajaya night run is on Saturday la. Anybody going ? Maybe I'll run this one, to make up for the disappointment of not running the PACM NB.

Ya sure bro, me can check for you too..

Ye ke, sat nite? sweat.gif sorry r...

i bought my nike 5.0 for rm320 from rsh one utama
if u have money get luna trainer or racer
*
Before you buy a pair of shoes please please check and see if it fits ur feet type..
No point in forking a few hundred and finding out that the shoe incurs injury rather then a smooth running experience..

There is a diff in nike shoes in terms of the bowerman series or the structure triax...
so please do ur research..another thing, nike shoes are significantly more exp then say saucony or NB..whether they are better or nt i would say it is a subjective matter laugh.gif

There is the pacemakers circuit run at nite this sat..

QUOTE(hawnauk @ May 21 2009, 09:58 AM)
I have one 'fashion shoe' for normal training and considering to get another 'non-fashion shoe' for the race.
*
You do knw that it is more important to have a serious trainer for trainings?
Training is the time where the feet needs the most cushioning..

If you're nt training rite, no amount spend or technology in a "non -fashion shoe" will help you run faster..

QUOTE(Syd G @ May 22 2009, 12:37 PM)
Hey I've been wanting to ask about recovery.

After NB15k, I could run sprints the day after it sap sap sui. But the sprints made my kaki ache for 3 days. I sapu CounterPain with lots of deep tissue massage, it went away for a day. I tried running the day after that and they all came back with a vengeance.

I want to take Ponstan as painkillers but I'm aware of the side-effects. I'm thinking of experimenting with icing and contrast baths.

How do u guys recover from runs?
*
Aiyor sista y u run sprints the day after?
Norm is run recovery runs of short distances or run distances at a real slow place; can also check via ur bpm making sure ur in zone 1
and sometimes these recovery runs are done either the next day after the event or 1 day holiday after event then recovery run..

For me self, after events i sometimes dun run the day after before resuming norm training at norm pace or run real slow paced run..
After NB15 I did a real slow 6km run on Monday; 6min per km..
Tuesday baru resume training..

Your sprint run intense ke? coz me do sprints as part of speed training..

QUOTE(tengster @ May 22 2009, 01:58 PM)

6min per km is slow ah sweat.gif

My sprint was intervals @12.5km/h. Quite intense cause my normal runs only 7.5-8km/h. I was doing sprint intervals cause I missed them the previous week (stupid reason, I know).

I ran again today and I was running around 8km/h. Felt quite comfortable so it's all good smile.gif

Wow, intense liao..
but good to hear all is alrite, looks like it was just a case of muscle tak rest enuff?

So after race, just chill icon_idea.gif

@bubbl3s
Wet feet test is important as it shows your arch type..
Btw, frm what you hv said so far it looks like you need "stability" shoes

The NB place over at BB plaza is quite good or for an official test, as recomended by ccube you can go over to the place in curve..

@tenno
the official distributors over at Jaya One also stock these model but i guess u didn't like the price laugh.gif

Hi everyone. I have been training for almost 2 years now. It all started when I finally decided to lose weight.

It was very tough when I first started. I could barely catch my breath. Er, I did not have those high tech equipment. My choice of shoes are Power.

Lately, I found out that I could only run up to a certain limit. I do not sweat very well and as a result, I overheat while running. What can I do?
*
Power? tongue.gif
Run up to a certain limit? do elaborate smile.gif

You do nt sweat very well as in u run at a slow and relax pace tongue.gif
