the pic below is normal ramspeed without oc...
u c the cpuz validator link,
RAM : 1024 MB DDR Dual Channel
RAM Speed : 201.2 MHz (5:4) @ 2.5-5-5-15
*
There is an error on the latency timing. Not sure your motherboard fault or the cou-z fault.

my ram timings are

2.5-3-3-8 < Kingston
2.5-3-3-8 < Kingston
2.5-3-3-8 < Kingston
2.5-4-4-8 < Apacer .. the only different 1

so, which is good and which is bad biggrin.gif

lol

Which one do you think is good?

SOS Kurang Asam laugh.gif

The lower the CL (cas latency) the more responsive the system was. But then not all ram chip can take high CL lo. 2 is better then 2.5, but for DDR ram, unless u have BH-5 + 2.85v and above then the ram can run on CL2 @ 220fsb and above. icon_rolleyes.gif Normally 2.5-3-3-5 will be very good already, my office rigs run on 2.5-3-3-5 @ FSB233 with 2.65v.. icon_idea.gif
*
Yup,only those high performance chips can run on CL2 on DDR400 and above.

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Oct 25 2008, 06:09 PM)
i believe that the apacer one sucks biggrin.gif

lol slower kua biggrin.gif
*
Actually in real world application,it has no difference. You can notice or feel it. smile.gif

so what about 2.5-4-4-8 and 2.5-5-5-15 got difference?
*
Actually for normal appications it doesn't bring much difference.Just let your timing on your mobo be.

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Oct 26 2008, 09:34 AM)
i dun care much about it

having 3gb of ram these days is abit overkill and running many many items cant even finish it up biggrin.gif
*
Yup,3GB is indeed very big amount of RAM on today's pc.

QUOTE(fylon @ Oct 26 2008, 09:48 AM)
Haha.. Not really eh! If assign 512mb ram to each VM, 4 VM will almost hogged the resource. Plus some other apps running on host pc.

Anyways, not much different for CL2 and CL 2.5 unless ur doing OC. Super PI quite depend on ram CL.
*
CL makes a little big difference in benchies, real world applications aren't severe but in gaming you will feel a bit fast in PC's response . tongue.gif

Rig's running fine, but my 6800GS is overheating and it cant cope with CSS with 10 bots laugh.gif

And anyone going to the RA3 launch tomorrow? I might be there. biggrin.gif
*
Wish you all the best in SPM. Well on your 6800GS,why is it overheating? CSS is sm3.0 demanding and due to cripple memory interface of your card,it's suffering.Mine can't play at all.Haha

Cleaning is needed to perform from time to time just to ensure the system is running fine without problem.

Wao,so high requirement on RA3. wink.gif

QUOTE(FunkyRider @ Oct 31 2008, 12:03 PM)
I'm new here! First post!

I have two systems with 478/479 sockets, both of them are more or less strange (un-mainstream if you would like to call them that way...)

1. Pentium 4 3.0C Gallatin, MSI 945GCM478, 512x2 Corsair 8000UL DDR2-1000 (D9 Fatboy), ST 320GB 7200.10 SATA, ASUS EAX1600XT Silent

2. Celeron-M 340 @ 2.33GHz, ASUS P4P800-E + CT-479, 512x2 Infineon CT-5 DDR-400, ST 160GB 7200.7 SATA, Gigabyte Radeon 9550

I will try to OC the 3.0C system as the CPU is a 30-capper and those DDR-2 1000 rams have loads of potential. However the motherboard with 945GC chipset is not a good overclocker, especially there is no option for voltages :-(

Whoa. Thats blazing fast compared to mine. At least 100kb+ faster than what I can get  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

ATI9550 is a crap,can't even compete with 9600XT is doesn't o/c.

Added on November 1, 2008, 12:09 pm@FunkyRider , we are waiting for your o/c results. I'm keen waiting to see the potential of DDR2 perform on P4 Gallatin. Maybe you can give a try to sawp your CPU to your Asus mobo to o/c too! thumbup.gif

Wao,add on another 1GB RAM?But you confirmed your RAM rosak ? Usually would be the slot issue.

@fylon,Northwood is based on 130nm architecture,so that's another limitation on it.
