@Ray
No worried man.. Maybe the seller still sleeping ma! Haha.. Wish u luck to get the GC. RM80 really nice deal! laugh.gif

6600GT is slightly better in term of technology used, but performance i think x800 still leading eh?

P/s: My P4 2.4Ghz got boosted to 3.0Ghz.. laugh.gif Eh.. Anyone know the default vcore for northwood? The system is running on default vcore atm, where vGAP and vdimm has been increase by 0.1v. Can feel the different with stock spd and OC spd when doing work. Imagine an excel file with 20k data.. sweat.gif

Haha.. Quite similar with my previous case on my office P4. Probably the case like what edmin mentioned before. Ya house current is having brownout but ur PSU cannot take the charge changed in a sudden. My problem solved once after swap a new PSU. How was ur PSU?

few things you can try here:

-have you check your voltage?? use speedfan or other utility to see the 3.3v, 5V and 12v. see it fluctuate or not. check the cpu, gc and mb temp as well.

-try set to default speed and try it again. if your mobo can adjust the agp voltage?? your gc may draw more power than 66gt.

-you say you prime but stable, what is the priority?? set it to 7+ and wait for 30min++, default priority is 0 or 1 if not mistaken tongue.gif

-lastly is maybe your driver problem, previous driver is nvidia and now you using ati. prev driver may conflict with newer 1.

hope can help.... wink.gif

@Ed
haha... aiming for mini9 liao??? it seems so sweet to me. drool.gif to bad i out of $$ sad.gif

Haha.. Why not give a test on intel burn test? That beast 2 mins priming is enough for finding the error for OC ady.

Anyone care to tell me the save vcore for Northwood?

Leve 1 is max stress laugh.gif And i found that, IBT seems like only utilized the virtual core (correct me if im wrong).

if not wrong, 1.6v should be quite save.... some hardcore northy ocer even push till 1.8-1.9v @_@"

well.... i never go beyond 1.6v... cause my pity p4p800x only have 1.6v vcore highest. sad.gif

Lol.. IBT really burn the procs eh... My rigs got around 12 degree temp rise during priming. At aircon room usually is 28-30'c for my system but once it got BURN, temp is around 40-42'c..

Seems like P4P8x has better OC setting.. In bios P4P8x can have vcore range up to 1.85v if im not mistaken. laugh.gif

the 6600GT is a 128 bit 128 ram card

the X800 is a 256 bit and 256 ram card

technically the X800 is almost on par with 12 pipelines against the 6600GT.

my X800 is 16 pipelines which helps better.... my card is comparable to a 6800NU.

on benchmark tests, loses out to 6800GT. On my personal experience, 6600 is a great fight to X800 but with a mix of experience, I can show you benchies and my benchies are rather higher smile.gif

Haha.. But for old schools, gaming experience is far important than benchies right?

Pity windows XP only able to detect 3.5G / 4G ram.. Time to move on vista!

@fylon,default vcore for northwood is 1.525v.If pump up to 1.6v is still safe,do not put 1.7v. Your problem in detecting only 3.5GB is because of 32bits Windows enviroment.You can swtich to 64bits and see.

Jcsy,x800 with 12pl is almost par with 6600GT. I perfer 6600GT > than x800.
