IMHO, i would recommend to invest in a UPS, which would have built-in AVR as well. juz my 2sen. biggrin.gif

nope. AVR=Auto Voltage Regulator
UPS=Uninterrupted power Supply

I recommend NOT to get UPS for home user. The battery maintenance will KILL you. doh.gif

current UPS usually have built in AVR function already, so no worries (check the specs before u buy lor). nod.gif

if UPS low maintenance, I would go for it, but it's the opposite. AVR easier maintenance, usually fuse blown only if anything serious.

i reckon some ppl will go for it, and some don't....

in my case, my place is quite common for power to go off...also my area here is quite prone to lightning strikes... doh.gif

almost everyone around my neaighbourhood had something burnt/killed by lightning.... doh.gif

just last nite, around 12.30am...got heavy rain and lightning....hse main DB tripped... rclxub.gif

so, depends on ur area, if no frequent power failure, then no need UPS....prolly an avr is sufficient...

my area, without UPS, very risky.... vmad.gif

Asus low end mobo is really crap la. 1Gb of RAM isn't really sufficient for you for decent gaming.2*1Gb RAM is hard to get too,not only the issue to burn wallet. Last PC in Penang,i saw 1GB RAM only selling RM100 per stick.

Haha.. If me, i will choose not to upgrade and use until the system dead. Save the upgrading $$ for new rigs would be a wise move. As now, the P4 parts is getting rare and rarer and the price is not cheap.

though minyak drop a bit, but other daily needs items already up kaw kaw.. cry.gif

that prevented me from getting new rig, saving money for the upcoming bad times... rclxub.gif

but P4 users, embrace your rigs, as they are still strong with us today, supporting us through the good times and bad times laugh.gif

yeap, everything in doubt, not stable. vmad.gif

if u looking for new job, the salary they offer you is low low low, as low as possible... sweat.gif

so be thankful that our p4 still serves us well these days, no need for us to fork out extra to buy new rigs brows.gif if really itchy 2 upgrade, i suggest upgrade something that you'll be able to transfer to new rigs, such as sound card, speakers, etc.
