@fylon,P4 architecture is way too old to compare with C2Q technology. Not fair to compare them here.
@edmin,you comment was saying E6600 and Q6600 are not much different there? |

I was like comparing the horsepower of a kancil vs 4 wheel drive! Normal usage, D and Q is basically no difference. Imagine a kancil and 4 wheel drive on normal road, There are traffic lights, speed limits and bumps so the kancil & 4 wheel performs the same. If you put kancil and 4 wheel into offroad conditions, that's a different scenario already. Same logic applies to the D and Q on same clockspeed and cache. P/S: I hope my 'story' above is not confusing This post has been edited by edministrator: Apr 19 2009, 04:22 PM |

bro, in your case, your system is working fine. your problem in oc is very general, perhaps you can elaborate further on your issue. then again, oc depends on luck also most of the time.
good gc? your mobo supports PCIE, so i think 9500GT range would fit pretty well without bottlenecks. |

agreed with ed, most of our problem was discussed since few previous versions. hardcore p4 users only handful. most p4 user now just play safe or already running at its optimum performance. thats why it seems a bit slow these days.
@mav910623 p4m900 wont bring you far due to its chipset limitation. but if you able set it to 1:1, you can easily get over 3GHz with your current 2.4A(i am the ex user). better keep an eye on the temp. even though running at stock is cool, once oc its temp can be greatly increase when full load. @ed i want 9500gt also cant la... now i am like ikan kering that dry. wuwu..... |

Bro .. this mobo is via chipset and i have heard of problems running the nvidia 8800GT and such .. just worried it wont want 2 run the 9500GT... was looking at ATI side because the 4850 runs on this mobo .. play safe abit good gc? your mobo supports PCIE, so i think 9500GT range would fit pretty well without bottlenecks. Yea bro .. temp is the only major issue here..Stock cooling @mav910623 p4m900 wont bring you far due to its chipset limitation. but if you able set it to 1:1, you can easily get over 3GHz with your current 2.4A(i am the ex user). better keep an eye on the temp. even though running at stock is cool, once oc its temp can be greatly increase when full load. |

since u have made up your mind for ATI, just go for it. 4850 is too much for your setup IMHO. btw, there should be no problem running nvidia on VIA.
temp with stock cooling is no issue. u gotta check what is your current load temp. with stock cooling you can also do some good amount of oc. This post has been edited by edministrator: Apr 21 2009, 03:34 PM |
