IMHO then the biostar should be a good choice. 790GX, newer chip with better oc capability, and hybrid crossfire too.

well that's the last resort if really cant get things right.
my uncle formats his pc everytime he changes hardware, espcially those that require driver installation etc.. he doesnt change hardware frequently, so it's pretty ok. this is to avoid any driver conflict or problems i guess. |

did you try some newer or older versions of catalyst driver?
coz i experinced before, new drivers don't always work. my bro's pc when used the latest drivers got BSOD appear after some time, after revert to older version no more already. |

yeah, many have problems with CCC. even my bro's one also. keep having probs with the vpu recover thingy. i see some people rather just have the driver installed only.

yeah...saw the comparison between 19" and 22" at a shop that day...not much difference also..from far you might see that the 19" looks like 22". but some circumstances don't permit me to get 22"..haha..if not i sure get already..

if for normal internet browsing and reading mails, etc..definately the old agp cards can still support. but it's a no-no for gaming. even tho play at lowest settings/reso, imagine how the game is gonna turned out. everything streched coz not plaing at the monitor's native reso. and not to mention the graphic will be bad too. i guess that's gonna turn off your mood for gaming

dual screen setup is really cool for me. tried it once with my friend's lcd. i think i might go for a 19" too..very tempted to get 22" with prices so darn cheap now. but my hostel a bit inconvinient, have to shift rooms every semester. so have to minimize my stuff. btw, between dual 17" setup and one 19" widescreen, which one you would choose?

nah..mine's the normal non-widescreen one. seldom see 17" widescreen but they do seem to be coming out more and more now. even samsung also have 17" wide already. last time so hard to find.

yeah, very good psu for that price. i'm using it on my c2d rig, running 24/7, never turned off for weeks already. the fan is also very silent, like there's no fan there.

ray, remember previously you said CCC was crap?
where did you download just the ati drivers only without CCC? my bro's 2400xt giving bluescreens. i suspect it's either the driver or CCC. EDIT: nevermind, found it on ati webbie. any ideas anyway, on why it's giving such probs? This post has been edited by dlwl: Oct 26 2008, 12:43 AM |
