im using a 2007 city vtech and i have a question.

when i set the car transmission to 7-speed manual, why does it insist on still controlling the car's transmission? when i step on the gas and wanted the RPM to go a lil higher, the gear shifts up automatically... sad.gif

- i assume that im in the 7-speed manual when i click the corresponding button on the steering wheel once
*
First of all, u need to know this is not fully manual. When u engage in manual mode, u get to play along ur so call virtual 7 speed gear. When ur rpm is higher than the gear spose to be, it will still automactically adjust ur virtual gear for u. U dun really get those kind of AMT or real gear as it's a CVT. FYI, new city aka 5G will have a fully manual transmission and no matter how high u rev ur rpm, it will maintain at ur desire gear. Too bad for 4G and below because of the virtual gear.

good la bumper kiss, usually if something broken, you replace them with modded thing.. haha  brows.gif
Yeah cheap rite. That's what i think too smile.gif
Aih, I oso lazy to go there anymore, one time I just ask politely and this mod suddenly say something (that's from my POV) which is not appropriate. I don't want to discuss much as he had already apologized but you know lor once heart scratched still have scar wat  sweat.gif anyway that mod is very helpful, just that he super controlling spam there I think (from my POV, no need to control that much of spam, their forum is not that active at all, and if it is spam, then it's from their circle of 'common' users that hang out there very often - but yes of course they should know best).

So many honda city clubs and teams these days. But from what I noticed most of the clubs have same users  blush.gif so i malas nak join any extra clubs at the moment. For me LYN the best place to hang out - talking from experience.

@raymond, where's that cheap gearbox thread again? I seemed to have lost it, no mood to go teamcity and search as well  whistling.gif

Neato4u, so sorry that u have such a bad experince in TC forum. I apologized on behalf of all member in TC.

Just now I sent my car for 80k km service, asked them to check some kr kr kr sound in the engine.  The service guy said maybe the tensioner belt needed replacement, approximately costs RM300+ (not definite yet, they'll call me back).  Is that the normal price for the belt at SC?
*
Tentioner belt? What i know is our CT has a fan belt which run the pulley and compressor. The original belt is Mitsuboi 5PK1144 which cost less than Rm100

It's advisable to get 04 and above as 03 has the gearbox issue.

SC sure quote you very expensive 1.. 3-5k  i think.
nop, never came across this situation. I suggest you open, clean it, then close it back tight. Or send to any accessories shop, they do for you.
*
U jes cant open like that.. Once open u need to use silicon to seal it. so please take to accesories shop to take it our wipe it clean and seal it with silicon. Please go to reputable shop otherwise, ur headlamp will always masuk air.. Not easy to seal properly by using silicon.

hi guys im new here, my friend is driving honda city 2006 (tail lamp is slightly different), he wanna change sport spring and stabilizer bar.

any recommend for sport spring and rougly how much it cost?

same to stabilizer bar, ultra racing? how much if comes with set, and how many bars can be installed on this ride. and finally rougly how much it cost?

he wanna mod all this because he feel that his car is sampan, he opt for better handling and cornering.

appreaciate ur replies!

EDIT: is monza sport spring good? i saw someone selling for rm350.
*
Sport springs wont go well with stock absorbers..reason, diff spring rate which results in bumpier ride. Also stock absorbers have longer stroke which is designed for the longer stock springs. Aftermarket springs are shorter so if you want a better ride then its best to go for sports absorber cause they have shorter stroke. GAB's sport absorbers for example comes with the AVCS [auto valve control stability] which means it can be paired with any aftermarket sport springs.

Eibach Pro-Kit sport springs uses progressive spring rates to minimize disturbances to the vehicle's ride quality, they are designed with overall higher than stock spring rates to help control the additional body roll at the limit to maximize improvements in handling. Cost somewhere RM1k for new set.

There are two types of springs, normal spiral springs[Linear Springs] which cost cheaper n offer easy lowering. The best choice is the use of a Progressive Spring, which in addition to lowering also improves the stiffness and handling of the car. A progressive spring will become harder and harder the more it is compressed. This way, it will feel soft on the daily driving road, but give a stiffer handling for the sportier driving. The progressive springs cost a bit more, but in my opinion it's worth the money! (from Fookie)

For Utra Racing bar, you dun have to install all. The most significant will be Anti Roll Bar. Instead of wanting to know all, learn which one you really need and later buy the bar that you only need. Btw, ARB cost about RM450.

Happy modding.

write a letter to their country manager. they will reply. just make sure you have the repair records from the SC's.

kepong SC cannot reject you. make sure you complain about the stolen fuel too.

good luck.
QUESTION

Anyone have had their front brake rotors changed yet ? I am too lazy to check the disc thickness (what is the minimum thickness anyways). SC is requesting a change.

I have a few other vehicles, some are twice the age of the City non of them needed any disc rotor change at all accept for the W124 E280 (RM80/= per side).

PRICES (correct as of JAN 7th 2010)

Brake rotor  RM130/= each

Original brake pads (front set manufactured by Nissin) RM115/=

All of the above is specific for Honda City IDSI 2005.
*
Normally disc rotor not so easily worn out. I dun think that thickness is an issue here but maybe inbalance thicknss of disc rotor. This may due to unproperly fix brake pad etc. Maybe u can ask them to skim your rotor instead. Ask outside see if it really need to be change or skim. Maybe sc mau makan duit..hehe
