as for the slide problem, i never faced this before, but there's one forumer here who had the same problem so prob best is tat u ask him how he fixed it. Or can call up Nokia SC and check with them..

Try go to this review link (my favourite) and be astonished of the cool E66 features : E66 Review: Business in Perfection

Guys, I found this from the e71 topic. Credit to davidmak rclxms.gif
I did give it a test and YES IT DID SAVE UP MORE BATTERY POWER!! rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif . Able to extend the battery performance to 2 1/2 days with 20 minutes++ talk time, 30++ SMS, 1 hour++ on Radio, 1 hour++ on Gaming, 40 minutes++ on GPS, 4 hours++ trying to install CorePlayer yet fail rclxub.gif and the rest on standby mode laugh.gif.

Btw, anyone know how to get the ahem version of CorePlayer for e66 base on the newest firmware. This latest firmware is really killing me off rclxub.gif . ROAR, so many ahem stuffs cannot install vmad.gif .

Also, any good pouch to get for this phone? The one come in the package can't provide much protection especially the top and the side area. I don't want my leng phone to get scratch sweat.gif .
*
serious? Hem.. hmm.gif just by deleting one registry file can extend the battery life to 150% more?

I'm nt satisfied with this phone too, tat's why got another N79..for me, i think in the end the E66 is just about looks and features, but fails in terms of stability and performance..reali disappointed sad.gif

According to most people from several forums it works. Apparently, that's a service that autostarts with the phone and running in background. And that service is hogging the processor power.
*
but do you knw wad's the function of this dll file?

From what I've read, that file is a service of Garmin Mobile XT for location message. If let's say you send me a location message from your garmin, the sms will be interpreted automatically by this service and have GMXT loaded so that the location will be shown directly in the map. Therefore, the service is constantly running to capture the location message received. If the file is deleted, the location message will be interpreted by the phone as a normal sms or mms only.
*
Bro, if that's the case, that means those who did not install GMXT wont have this file rite..then how 2 save battery? Hem...

The *.dll file belong to Garmin  so you don't have to worry about deleting it. Actually you don't have to delete it, just rename it will do icon_idea.gif . I got to agree with you, e66 is more on the look. Those who need multimedia feature shouldn't look into this phone. For business usage, get e71 instate for its superb battery power and QWERTY keyboard function (helps you a lot when typing SMS, E-mail and MSN flex.gif )

Anyway, check out the newest Nokia touch screen phone announce today, N97 thumbup.gif . Another lovely phone to play play with it and this time Nokia won't screw the battery performance again as it uses BL-4C (1500 mAh) battery wub.gif . Enough power for you to play till your phone spoil tongue.gif .
*
Bro,

the .dll file sounds fishy coz normal E66 can last slightly over 1 day, and by installing GMXT and then deleting the .dll file can extend the battery life to 2 1/2 days, it reali doesnt make any sense... hmm.gif

The N97 has been in the news since early this year, with some peeks into its design, but latest news is that it'll only be released in Q2 2009. And the N96 already cost so much, the N97 must be drop-dead expensive.. sweat.gif

E66 vs N79 , which one do you guys recommend??? I read from other forumners that N79 has limited multitasking capability , quite worrying about that..
*
wad are the limited multitasking capability? Currently im using both E66 and N79, IMHO despite the difference in looks, the N79's performance surpasses the E66 by a huge gap..

hi,

i just got myself an e66 last week..
everything is working fine and i love it..

but i can't quite get the garmin mobile xt to work...?!!
it can't detect the internal gps and keeps prompting to switch on bluetooth to pair with external gps receiver?
i know it can't be the gps receiver problem cos it works fine with nokia maps..

it is quite annoying and i couldn't find solution to it even though i have googled high and low...
sigh...

anybody can help?
appreciate it very much..

regards,
*
It has been repeatedly mentioned in this thread that the Garmin Mobile XT is meant to work only with Garmin's bluetooth GPS receiver..

Try searching the net for directions on how to make it work with built-in GPS..gud luck smile.gif

Sry, can't help much as we are not allow post anything that is illegal in this forum. You got to search more deeply into it.

Tips : Search e71 instated of e66 as the sister phone is more famous compare to its little brother laugh.gif . Both phone is running on the same platform so anything that works on e71 will work for e66 as well icon_rolleyes.gif .
*
not really, as long as search for garmin for symbian enough d..very easy biggrin.gif

oh what's wrong?

I just updated the phone firmware myself to the newest version 110.07.126, it's the asia pacific version which c/w chinese as well.  smile.gif
*
i juz hope that my decision doesnt affect those who wanna buy E66, its a great phone actually. Just that i start having the battery problem and being unable to last for over 1 day reali gives me headache especially when im working..and then ther's some software instability issues and suddenly the phone unable to start. Went to SC and they say need to change the board sad.gif

So decided to change to N79 which is so much better than the E66 (except for the luxurious look)..it's got all the features (and even better) with really stable software icon_rolleyes.gif

Long time didnt post anything, been bz with some stuff lately. Btw saw the new firmware has everyone updated and tested it? I cant dl from the Internet becoz the nokia updater say my internet connection too slow. The file is 105mb. OMYG rclxub.gif  Anyone know where can I get my phone to update to the latest firmware? I'm currently living at puchong smile.gif
*
if im not mistaken, the 105mb is for updating via PC, whilst for updating via phone is like <20Mb.. perhaps those who had updated can confirm this. blush.gif

Added on December 16, 2008, 1:31 amoh... one more thing. is there a clock software that does not do ascending alarm? cuz the original clock can't wake me up as it was put to be in ascending order.
*
another option is to take a realli loud and noisy mp3, increase the volume by 150% or more, than save into your phone as alarm. This works super fine for me. The more irritating the sound is, the earlier you woke up laugh.gif
