Good to know that ur old issue gone due to the shield.
I believe the conductivity of the shield was affecting your touchscreen.

If not mistaken, I came across a post on how to get rid of our "qweeky" sound, but the procedure quite intrusive one! Let me dig-dig my data first.

Hi guys, some update on our Android browser's security.

There is bug in the browser's mediaserver code that could lead to hacker exploitation actions such as alter listen to and alter some audio and visual media on our G1. However it's only limited to the mediaserver, not on other sandboxes. Google/T-mobile will launch a fix for it *soon*.

Guess the impact is not that great but just be more alert when go to untrusted sites ya! *yeah!! u know what I mean rite* ^^
To be safe, use Operamini or Steel for the period of time till we get the patch.

Hey guys does your meebo log out by itself? Mine does even though i don't move about or loose the signal. Are you guys using the gtalk that comes with the phone?

Those apps are meant for G1 Android.
There are only for download through Android Market to G1 directly.

Read the app reviews to understand them better.

Eh, u are offline again on my G1-IM.

Think once in a while have to go in to retain its connectivity to google server, if not I believe it will cut-off to save battery.

It should automatically sign in after you have a reboot (by default).
Check out ur IM's setting, see whether the auto-sign-in is ticked ^^

Mine is RM99 per month under Maxis.

Just the data plan only, call fees not inclusive. ^^

For those who are interesting on how (switching) 2G/3G help to save battery on our G1, here are some explanation I cut it out from XDA forum:

It's like this... imagine you and your phone ("P") are in the reach of two cells: one can only do EDGE ("E"), the other can do 3G ("3G") as well. Cell towers with 3G are not as tightly spread as EDGE towers.

If you're phone uses 3G and a 3G cell tower is in reach, it will log on to this tower, even if the 3G tower is farther away than the EDGE tower - normally, the closest cell tower is being used. ("Closest" in the lose sense - it's based on signal strength, so it might be that one tower is geographically closer, but because of obstructions it's signal strength is weaker, so you'll get logged into a farther tower. It's still the most battery-efficient tower.)

With 3G enabled:

E----P======3G
Long distance, big battery consumption for sending data (and voice!) to the farther tower.
Use only 2G networks:

E====P--------3G
Closer distance, less battery power is needed.
You may notice it thru your G1 signal strength, in some area although in 3G coverage but the strength are not too great (1/2 bars) it will drain ur battery much faster. If possible switch to 2G, ur EDGE signal should be better than the 3G.

Heh! ^^ Actually it might help if we make complaint to the telco whenever encounter a constant weak 3G signal. Make them alert and continue to monitor their coverage effectively.

Ha..ha... beside that it does help me to ease bit of the feeling for "over-charge" data plan

By the way, any of you (rooted or unrooted) having prob to access "https" site such as yahoomail login?!
I have a blank screen on https page with 3G maxis but not with WIFI. 

Meaning you forwarding all ur yahoo to gmail?
Wah, u must have yahoo mail plus account?? 

My issue is when i access https site using Android native browser, it will give me a blank screen (only happened on 3G, not on wifi). I can't do commercial banking because of this.

Su-mi-ma-sen!! Google haven't release the Bluetooth's API yet.

So currently G1 Bluetooth is not available for file transfering, No file transfer can be done. ^^

However "cupcake" development branch website it is stated that amongst other notable changes cupcake will include Bluetooth- Support for A2DP & AVRCP profiles.

Hopefully it comes with data transfer feature 

You wouldn't what will happen to Cupcake, its up to Google/HTC decide what/when to release them strategically!!

That's why I pray-pray Bluetooth data transfer will be coming out along with the cupcake lor!
But I believe it will since too much pressure from us ^^;

For those who want to transfer file wirelessly(not bluetooth), you may try out Discover in the market.

Magic is sleeker but lack of qwerty and I believe the reason behind why Magic is set (initially) to Europe market is because Google wanted to capture the remaining iPhone market since US already saturated with iPhone, it's hard to penetrate with Magic spec which is similar to iPhone 3G 

And one more thing, Magic definitely got the Cupcake ported when it's launched, it needs the virtual keyboard!!

BTW, Quickoffice launched paid apps for Android. Charging USD7.99 for just viewing (word & excel) and very very minimum editing function for excel 

Yup, especially now we can access Google Docs easily with our G1 and can edit excel summore ^^;
