QUOTE(revolnia @ Aug 20 2010, 04:33 PM) dunno whether still got stock or not. Last time I bought from him, there's only 2 left so I bought all of it. Hehe. This phone so rare because this is an old model. First generation of android ( First Google Phone ). No more new stock and the G1 is officially updated till 1.6. But there's still got dev try as hard as they can and wanna push this phone to it's own limit. That's why we got custom rom and we are able to flash eclair and froyo to our model. Ganas kan? Hahahaha but even if its old....i mean u dont see many of it...just like not many people bought it when launched? i think its a great phone but there is one drawback no on screen keyboard for sms

it should be working in landscape mode. I think you need to play around with your G1 first and figure it out the setting

Try to enable automatic rotation.
Settings- Sound and display-Orientation or something like that.
Then, go to some message field in landscape mode and you'll probably get a landscape keyboard.

gnohc: I fix my ribbon cable at home but i ordered the cable from Mobile Care Shop at Subang, through online. Since I'm in Miri and G1 parts are virtually impossible to get here. What's wrong with your keyboard? gnohc & revolnia : Flashed with Cyanogen 6. Thought of using Super E but saw the youtube on this one so might as well try it and go with Froyo! So far its stable. The video showed that it was smooth but on mine there is a slight delay from the moment you wake it, after a moment, its smooth again. Market it working fine. At first it wasn't because flashed with the wrong gapps addon (have to use gapps-mdpi-tiny-20100816-signed). Now market is working but Google Maps is not, has a solution but I haven't apply it yet. Overall quite satisfied with it. Will be keeping it for quite a while I guess... at least can tahan untill the next gen android phones are out! haha....

I bought a 2nd hand Tmobile G1 which is rooted with www.HiAPK.com rom.Anyone with experience how to upgrade to froyo? I tried to flash to cyanogenmod 1.6 but when boot up, it stuck at HTC Dream screen. Hence i recover back the HiAPK rom using rom manager. Please help!!!!! also, i hate the chinese virtual keyboard built in the rom as well. Thanks.
